as I rode by them at Theo. There they were on the side of the trail resting. What luck. I'd just snagged my shorts on a branch. Yep, that's right, tore em wide open. What could I do. It is a 5 mile ride home on streets and bike paths. I figured I'd ride until dark, then it would be safe to go home under the cover of night. But of course the trail had to double back on itself so I had to ride by them again. How embarassing. Sorry girls. I'll be wearing baggy shorts from now on.

When I used to live in Elk River, I would ride from my house to Hillside. One day I had a mishap where one of the rails on my seat broke and the seat post ripped my Pearl Izumi's from the inside of my leg up to the waistband - probably a 5-6 inch rip. I rode the last 1/3 of the trail standing up and noticed a fair amount of "wind" on my backside. The rip had caused the stiching of the chamois to unravel, so it looked like I had a tail and my bare *ss was exposed for the world to see. Needless to say, I got my fair share of hoots and honks as I crossed Hwy 101...

But who says we can't? And why can't men wear skirts? It's only taboo because society tells you so. I see nothing morally or fundamentally wrong with it. And if it's comfy then go for it.

And let me tell you, a skirt on a hot summer day is mighty comfy. You should try it.

And check out this clothing philosophy:

Skooch (http://www.skoochuglywear.com/index.html)

These people rock, and the clothes they make really are some of the most comfortable (and therefore completely worn out) clothes that I own.

No, a kilt would be a kilt, not a skirt. But it has the same comfy ventilation effect. :D

kilt (khttp://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/graphics/AHD4/GIF/ibreve.giflt)
n.

A knee-length skirt with deep pleats, usually of a tartan wool, worn as part of the dress for men in the Scottish Highlands.
A similar skirt worn by women, girls, and boys.

skirt (skūrt)
n.

The part of a garment, such as a dress or coat, that hangs freely from the waist down.
A garment hanging from the waist and worn by women and girls.
A part or attachment resembling the skirt of a garment, especially:
One of the leather flaps hanging from the side of a saddle.
The lower outer section of a rocket vehicle.
A flexible strip hanging from the base of an air-cushion vehicle.
A piece of fabric that extends over or beyond something to afford protection.

An outer edge; a border or margin: a base camp on the skirt of the mountain.
skirts The edge, as of a town; the outskirts.
Offensive Slang. A woman.

I see nothing in the definition of skirt that requires pleats. However, your definition of kilt does require pleats. Therefore, a kilt may be a skirt, but a skirt does not have to be a kilt.

So there. :p
