Frame size?

Just curious, does anyone know what measurement "frame size" is based on?

I've got a 19" Stumpjumper, I just went to the Specialized website and looked at the geometry specs and don't find any measurement that seems to be close to 19".

I may be wrong but i dont think there really isnt a true standard for measurements. Usually frames are measured from the center of the BB, up the seat tube to the center of the top tube. If the top tube is sloping, some manufacturers use an imaginary top tube to measure from. Other manufacturers may measure from the center of the BB to the top of the seat tube.

I measured from the BB to the imaginary line where a horizontal top tube would hit the seat tube. Sure enough, 19".

Thanks for the info. Not sure why I cared, but sometimes you just want to know. Know what I mean?
