Greetings all,

AS some of you may have seen on www.muddyriverrace.com (http://www.muddyriverrace.com) their will be one more trail day for this year. Saturday Oct. 8th. We will meet in the park at the Start finish area at 10:00 A.M. We have just a little bit of trimming in a small area and some scatered logs to chop out of the way. It should't take to long, hopefully even get a ride in.

Thanks for to all those who help maintain trails.

Chris (Gus) Gustafson:)

Was the chirping of the crickets getting to you since no one replied?

I'll be there.

I'll be bringing my bike. Hopefully we can get everything done by noon and get a good couple laps before the arrows start to fly.

What could be more fun than some trail cleanup and riding on a beautiful fall day? I'd say it's worth the hour drive from the cities... :p (good enough sales job?)

Sounds like more fun than the proverbial barrel of monkeys ;)

I should be able to make it.
What kinds of tools should I bring ?

A weed wipper would be good. Or just some simple hand tools. Rakes, prunning sheers, hand trimmers.

With any luck you will be driving down there with a couple of monkeys. :D

So... is this pretty much the checklist of what we'll want to get done:

- cleanup Margaritaville (de-weedify, clean up a fallen tree)
- maybe weed whip / clean-up Lay Down Sally (and the lower trail that runs parallel to it? - this will add a bit of time as it hasn't been touched all year)
- there is a tree down pretty much at the 5 way, so that could be cleaned up
- there is a tree down about halfway through Southern Cross

Sounds like with a chainsaw or two, and a couple of weed whips we could be riding by noon or so with any luck (too bad I have neither). Am I missing anything?

Gus, are you still planning on renting one of those DR Trimmer on Wheels like things?

Since it sounds like a few people who haven't been to a trail day at Memorial will be popping down tomorrow morning I figured I'd make sure people knew where to meet...

Ok... I suck at explaining it, but we always meet up "in the park" where the start finish line is for the race. To get there drive past the two overlooks of town, and take a right at the 'y' in the road (taking a left leads you back down the bluff). Watch for a little access road type deal to your right before you head down to the back of the bluff (where a lot of people and hooligans park). There is usually a gate there, but if Gus wakes up in time, that will be open and we can park up in the field at the trailhead.

I'll try and get there a little early. I drive a little Honda Civic and a massively wheeled blue bike will be on top...

I will proably clear the tree on Southern cross on my way up the hill, so don't think I missed the boat if you hear me sawing away.

Hey Isaac. What do you mean if I wake up in time?

I probably should have said if I get up on time... I think you've beaten me up to the gate 9 times out of 10. Just had to get in a jab, no matter how childish and stupid. :p

See ya tomorrow

Sorry, gentlemen. My alarm went off at six thirty, I got out of bed, and kept going in an arc until I hit floor. Not good. Got back in bed and stayed there all day. I don't like being sick in general, but being too sick for riding and trailwork with such great company was a real bummer. Hope I can catch you next time around. . . :cryin:

I got to ride this thing on Saturday.

This section of memorial is pretty cool. I like this skinny, not me in the pic, and if you look closely you can see the big rock wall in the back ground. This trail has some very scenic sections that I liked.

Thanks for inviting us down to do the trailwork and riding Chris. Will sure do it again sometime!

wish I was there instead of the freaking Iron range visiting in-lawsBummer, I really don't like in-laws, especially when you can be riding a great trail on a beautiful fall day.
