This is very much so an emergency trailwork to get it ready for the race that next Saturday. If we don't get enough help the race will not happen at Camp Manitou! So please, if you can help, come on out! If we don't get it ready in time it will be switched to Hillside.
Some of the things needed to be done; weed whip over 1/2 the trail (we'll rent and mower for most of this), re-route for a wet/muddy section, overgrowth clearing for most of the single track yet (~4 miles), and just clearing small debris. So, anyone with weed whips, preferably strong ones, would be greatly appreciated.
How can you help? Come on out any time next Sunday (9a.m. to whenever), even Saturday (I'll be there from about 10 to 4). If you can't make it for trailwork, ride the trail and clear anything you can, such as debris on the trail or bring clippers and get the "head whackers". Even better, organize a group "trailwork" ride for everyone to help. ANYTHING you can help with will bring us one step closer to having this race a go.
I really would like to see the race here, same with Jim. It is a great trail with lots of scenery, just fun to ride. Not to technical, just long, 10+ miles. Just a note, there is a section of trail that I cannot locate so if you get lost just hit a main trail and ride back. This will be clearly marked before the race. Thanks again.
