They are now saying clear today and tomorrow. So...
Leb Night Ride Thursday 9/15 7:30pm
It's time to check out "Ted's Log" :crazy2: , near the end of the XX.
Ted's Log is a new addition that John Lundell insisted on putting in. John was complaining that there weren't enough log crossings at Leb. We tried to stop him, but he's the boss and always gets his way. So for spite, he decided to make this one a little tougher than the others.

I will be there.
...just what I need, another freaking log at Lebanon. Where?
I'll put the studded tires on to help wear that thing down a little
Hope to make it out!

I've been cleared for participation. I'll bring the fixed gear and see what I can do to wear down that log with the chainring or pedals.

It is near the end of the XX. After the teeter and rock garden, but just before the "troll tree", there is a spot where you cross about 3 or 4 logs while climbing up a hill. Ted's log is about 15 feet before the first log, in time to slow you down and put you off-balance before you come up on the other logs.
I'm looking forward to watching Ken ride it on a fixie.

I don't seem to remember it going down exactly this way... :fool: hehe. Seems last night we proved that the dirt boss doesn't have the final say in all that is done. <sigh>
I'll be there for the night ride... hopefully my cold won't join me this time.
I am not looking forward to that log.

Will this be the official fall night ride time? The night rides last year were great, but I couldn't make all but a couple because of the day. Thursday work great for me. Can't make it this week though... in-laws are in town:cryin: . I am going to try the log this afternoon, I can't wait.:etard:

Last year I think we did wed. nights. This year it seems like thursday is working out, but it could change depending on weather etc.
One of those two days will likely be the official un-official regular optional most likely day.

Thursdays are best for me. I have conflicts every other Wednesday night, and Tuesday is trail work. In another week or two when it starts getting dark earlier, I'd like to move the start time to 7pm.

I'm definately going to be looking forward when I get to that log! Then I'm going to be looking into the forest as I screw it up majorly (hey, it's a tree (albeit a dead one) - I'll still hit/eat it!).
As for how things went...I seem to recall Bob and the rest of us waiting for the "Lundell touch" and guidance for where to put the log in. I'm not entirely certain that guidance was followed to the letter (or at all), but I do recall not putting it in until you got there John. Your hands aren't entirely dirtless. (which is good, you're a dirt boss after all!)

This would work for me too... especially when we can move the start time up.
