I know I'm in the minority, but I don't want Lance to make a comeback. The French are the ones that made the accusations that made him angry. The French (the Tour) are the ones that stand to gain the most if Lance returns. They can bill it as Lance's return and hype it like crazy. Without him, I think most of the GENERAL sports population will not have nearly as much interest. Just my opinion.

The Tour will go on with or without him, so it matters not to me. The odd thing is the use of the "petition", it's a request yes so its his choice no matter what, but this seems like more of a request to "stick it to the Frenchies". *shrugs* I'll be following the race either way.

My opinion...he should ride the giro and the vuelta, but not the tour. He should prove himself in the other races, but still spite the french by ignoring their grand tour.

I'd like to see him go out on top... not pull a "Jordan".
I just hope that the OLN tour coverage is the same without him riding.

Finally got around to watching the last stage of the tour last night off the tivo. Listening to our National Anthem and watching the American Flag fly on French was bitter sweet! It felt gooood :D

I am not going to sign. The guy wants a life now. He rules and we all know it. We also all know he could have an 8th title, but why? Lance stated awhile back that he wanted to concetrate on his kids and life now. I know I was never a high profile rider, but when I quit racing BMX seriously for points and stopped being serious about MTB racing, I actually started to enjoy riding my bike more.
I also know I could go to the BMX track at any moment and whoop some.....yeah.....it's a challenge I may just take up someday.....:)
Let Lance live his life now. Then he can ride for fun and himself.....instead of riding for everyone else.
My opinion...he should ride the giro and the vuelta, but not the tour. He should prove himself in the other races, but still spite the french by ignoring their grand tour.
I like this one. Come out of retirement, only to ride everyone elses grand tour. That would be great. :scream: Seriously though, I think that he retired, he should STAY retired.

I never really thought he would. He's a man of his word, and when he said he retired from professional racing, I believed him.

They were just on 20-20 tonight. Lance and what's her name are getting married.

Well at least "What's her name" will be Mrs. Armstrong. I think that's a big improvement from "What's her name". :D

For some reason I'm thinking that Sheryl Crow wont change her last name. But you never know I guess.

I'm not going to sign. Let the guy do his own thing. If that includes mountain bike racing (Cheq '06?) or going back to his triathlon roots (Xterra?) I will not be complaining. If he wants to sit at home on his couch, play with his kids, hang out with his rock star girlfriend/wife, and eat Doritos all day, he has earned that right.

I have to agree. Let him do whatever he wants. If he wants to road race again, so be it. If not....then thats just fine. He shouldnt have to deal with the spot light if he doesnt want to anymore.

I seriously doubt that Lance will make his decision about whether to ride or sit at home eating bon bons based on somebody's petition.

I phrased it incorrectly. I dont think a petition will do anything either. He has choices just like the rest of us and it doesnt matter to me what he chooses to do.
