James, might you be interested in leading a Salem group ride Wednesday (9/7), maybe around 8:00 ????
I'm looking for some light exercise for my single-speed.

Maybe,
I outran a nasty looking storm on the bike this morning and I don't know how much rain fell on Salem.
I also had something come up at work today that might prevent me from doing much for the next few months.
I'll keep you posted.

It's looking grim outside right now.

This doesn't sound good.

Dang, James, that doesn't sound good. What's going on? -you don't have to go into it now.

It rained for a few hours this morning and rained yesterday. I know when I rode on Monday (90+ degrees out) it was tacky but wet down by the swamp, bet it's pretty wet by now after this morning. Let me know if gonna do this another night I would be up for it but I'd have to run and get a light first.

It still looks pretty wet outside. Let's cancel this ride.
Hijack! It's too wet to ride, but just right to do trailwork. Drown your sorrows at Theo -- we're working on a really neat bit right now and could use you for your body ( in a family friendly way, of course ;) ) In a week or two, you too could have " I built that " bragging rights. . . .

But, but... I just spent last night doing trail work, while watching everyone else ride. I promised myself that this year I was only going to dedicate one night per week to trail work.
BTW, it's now clear sky and sunny. James, how long does it take for Salem to dry out?

With all the rain we have had, I would have to say it is not ridable tonight.
My back yard is still wet and my driveway in the shade still has puddles on it.
Don't forget final trailwork tomorrow night.

We are working on a really fun bit that will have to be test - ridden, Theo sogginess permitting, of course. C'mon, Bob. Everybody's doing it . . .
In all seriousness, tonight should be a fun and physical bit of trail building.
