This will be one of the last building sessions of the year. We were able to clear and almost finish all the new sections of the trail last week and just have some short sections to work on this week.
Cutting a new 15 foot connector on the north end.
Messaging the trail into and out of the optional rock step up.
General touch up work in a few areas.
Come out and help us to make sure the trail is in top shape for the Summit.
Thanks

how late do you usually stay out there doing trail work, I don't think I can make it tonight but was out there last thursday around 7:00-7:30 and didn't see a soul, not sure if I took a wrong turn somewhere. It was my first time riding the trail and alls I know is I think I may have gotten turned around at some point. I entered in some woods, rode in circles in a field and occasionally back through some woods, saw a swamp at one point but never again, and exited onto the road down from the parking lot without ever seeing a single person. Trail was alot of fun, especially since I'm new and out of shape, wasn't too difficult to push through. I guess I'm wondering did I make a wrong turn or was there nobdy there anymore at that time? I may try and move some things tonight and make it so I'd like to know where I'm going I guess. last week there were a few cars in the lot, I remember a yellow car (smaller wagon of sorts I believe, suburu maybe) and a silver car there when I got there and still there when I left so I believe I may not have gotten to the correct area you were working on. thanks.

We were working on the loop to the north and west of the parking lot.
Trail layout is set up like a figure eight,
You enter the trail to the west of the parking lot and hang a right. This trail will lopp behind the tennis courts and along upper 55th. Last week it dead ended at a neighborhood path. we will be cutting a direct connecter to the mountain bike trail tonight. You will follow this trail through so Black Berry bushes and some woods. It will cross the neighboorhood trails twice more ( go straight accross)
It will join up with another trail directly east of the parking lot in a field and then head into a short tree section. You will come to a Y intersection. left will take you back to the trail head and the start of the north (fork-in-the-trail) Loop, right will take you to the southern loop. Follow that trail clockwise and it will bring you back (after about 4 miles) to the intersection mentioned above.
We hope top have signs in place by next weekend. A large trailmap and small handout maps should be available at the trailhead soon. They have been mapping the last couple of weeks.
We will be working on the North West intersection Corner to begin with tonight and then moving to the large rock near the end of the south loop.
The Yellow car was mine. We will be starting about 6:00 and leaving when it gets to dark to see.
Hope to see you out there.

Hey Troy... I'm going to try like heck to make it down there by 6, but it will be difficult. I could pick you up and give you a ride if you would like to go. Check your PM for my phone number. I am working from home today.

Thanks for the offer Ken. If it were just the lack of vehicle I'd take you up on it. However, it's fixiing on the vehicle, that will be taking up my time tonight before I head out of town for the weekend tomorrow.

I have to give props to James for sacrificing his body to get the finishing touches done on the Harmon trail yesterday. He fought through getting stung 4 times by bees to get the trail done! He's tougher than me! He didn't puff up and die, so I think he will be alright! Thanks for all the work you've done and bee stings you've endured to help make Harmon a great trail!

James,
I got to the trail early last week, so rather than waiting I took my lopers and did some trimming. When I got back to the car around dark everyone was gone. I will try to make it out Thursday.
