06 Trek/GF bikes announced!

I saw this thread over on mtbr.com about the 06 Treks and thought it might interest some people here. The new FS 29er (supercaliber/race day) looks badass, but it doesn't look any beefier than the 292/293. Sorry, Bob.

They have a couple of nice looking city/townie bikes that look nice too, even one with a moustache.

Hopefully one of my connections can hook me up with a cheap bike.

Bummer. I had heard rumor that they were planning to offer the Cake as a 29er, but I guess that is not so. The supercaliber sounds like an even wimpier bike than the Sugar.


Meanwhile, I got my bike back this afternoon. I was beginning to think that as a repeat customer to the warranty department, Trek/Penn was starting to ignore me. On the bright side, Penn Cycle picked up the labor for me this time. I also told them that I'd be willing to be a guinea pig for a beefier frame (i.e. Cake).

Meanwhile, I've been doing so much riding on the SS Karate Monkey that I'm wondering which one will now be my favorite bike.
