That's right, the fall Trail Benefit Race (AKA: Boo Blast) will be back at Camp Manitou (http://www.bikeblast.com/BlastMonticelloMap.htm) in Monticello. This is a trail benefit race, all proceeds go back to the trails. The race will be Saturday October 1st, the same day as Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day (http://www.morcmtb.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14378). I'm going to see what we can do special for the kids. More details to come and a trailwork day to get things ready.
Wish I could make it. My sisters wedding is that day, so I'm booked.
It's a fun event, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Is there going to be a night ride again?
All riders should consider participating in this event as it is a great way to conclude the MTB race season. The BLAST races are the essence of mountain bike racing - relaxed, fun, and have a non-intimidating atmosphere.
If you have never raced before - be sure to give it a try at this event. This is a very approachable venue for all skill levels as it is one of the few competitive events NOT held on a ski hill.
We will need volunteers to help get the trails in shape for this event (date currently TBD) - please contact Ryan Panning to participate.

FYI, this is going to be called the fall Trail Benefit Race instead of Boo Blast, but it's one in the same. This is so people realize that the money raised goes towards the trails. I've posted the race details on the Blast site (http://www.bikeblast.com/BlastEvents.htm), more kid event details to come.

Race location changed! I'm sure most heard this already (I'm late) but the Fall Trail Benefit Race has been moved to Hillside. This was decided after we discovered there was just too much work at Camp Manitou to get it in racing shape. Everything stayed the same, times and such but just the location changed. See the event flyer.

Stay tuned to this thread. The race might have to be posponed or canceled due to storm damage. See other post in Hillside forum.

It went very well. Turnout was kind of low but I think we just need to get the word out better. Weather was great, unlike last year. Lots of kids this year which was nice. Lots of swag to givin away. All in all, it was a good race, better than I had expected. Next year should be even better, I'd like to get more things going.
Thanks RYAN for all your work - you bust your butt all day at the race and never got to do a loop on your bike. It was great to see some new faces at the race - always nice to get new riders involved.

Ditto... Thanks Ryan and the rest of the crew. Excellent event! It was neat to see the Kids events.
Just a question: Wouldn't the front parking lot be a better place for Registration, ect... Is that off limits for events?

When there is a good turnout there isn't enough parking up front. That and it starts in the back anyway. This started before I was around so I don't know all the reasons. Glad you had fun!

Panman & Blast Crew Volunteers,
Just another "thanks" for putting on a fun low key race. You guys have always put on the best low key/ friendly races around...
With some volunteer trail help maybe next year Monticello will open back up...
It was great to see all the children doing the kid's race...
It's no big deal, but are you going to post the race results anywhere?
Thanks again,
LS

You bet, I'll post the results on the BLAST site (www.bikeblast.com) as soon as I get them from Kevin.
