I need to clean house on some older (possibly useless) stuff I have sitting around, otherwise I won’t be able to afford new bikes this spring.
(1) 2002 Trek Bruiser with a ‘99 Marzocchi Bomber Z1 Alloy (4″ travel) mounted on the front. This is an inexpensive, dual slalom/dirt jumper type of bike. I think it has an Alivio 8 speed rear derailleur and a Grip Shift shifter. It has a roller chainguide and no front derailleur. Rather beefy wheelset and 2.3″ Kenda tires as well. Hardly ridden. The fork needs a rebuild which can be done at a savvy local shop or at QBP’s Shock Treatment center rather inexpensively. I’ve decided that jumping off retaining walls and stuff is hazardous to my health. Asking $300/obo.
(1) 18″ 1998 Fisher Aquila with horizontal dropouts added by Bob Brown. The value of this bike is truly in the frame. It is currently built as a complete bike (34x20 gearing) with a red GT rigid fork. I will sell the whole thing for $150/obo. **SOLD**
(1) pair of 2004 American Classic CR420 (clincher) road wheels. These are the low spoke count (16 front, 20 rear) models with bladed spokes and alloy nipples. The 420 rim is a 34mm aero profile rim. There is a 200 lb. recommended rider weight limit on these wheels. They’re very light (sub 1400 grams) and are great all around wheels, crits, road races, time trials, whatever. I’d recommend sticking to just racing on them though, as the durability on this set isn’t high enough for the rough roads and daily abuse they’d get. I’ve only raced on them probably a dozen times over 2 seasons. Come with Schwalbe Stelvio clinchers and tubes (these tires were given to me this spring and I’ve only raced on them a few times, so they have plenty of miles left in them), as well as the American Classic stock skewers. No cassette (Shimano freehub). Asking $400, pretty firm on that price.
I’m also selling my Giant TCR Composite 1 at the end of the year, asking $1300. I am selling basically everything with it - frame pump, Flight Deck computer, and the 2003 Dura Ace wheelset I added this year. But for now I do have a buyer lined up for when I’ll be ready to get rid of it. I’ll re-post if she falls through.
So buy my stuff, help out a racer, finance my new bikes for next year…..
