I've been running tubeless all year with no problems. All the stuff I had heard about running lower pressure, etc, is true. I run a Bontrager tubeless wheelset with Bontrager tubeless tires, not even any of the goop inside. They do lose air pretty quickly, but I am usually adjust my air pressure before every ride anyway. They were not nearly as difficult to mount as I had been led to believe, either.

I agree with all of this as well. The only con I ran into was that my rear wheel was spewing air out way too fast this year (on its 3rd hard riding year, so not bad!) - I was about to buy a new one when I tried just a small amount of Stans and I have hardly had to give it air since.

Air was somehow getting through the stem hole and leaking out the spoke holes. I even replaced the stem entirely and that didn't fix it. I think it formed a real small hairline fracture around the hole. The goo must have sealed it right up. I hear stories of dry rot etc. but it has bought me most likely the rest of the year on the wheel so I'll take it - then worry about replacement next year if necessary.

They say not to use tools to take the wheel on and off, and that makes for a rather hard workout sometimes, just keep the wheel wet and it should be less effort. (i'm sure the mechanics of the bunch would have more tips in that regard)

I won't go back to tubed.

I went tubeless this year. It's all good, I'm never going back!

I've put in over 1200 miles with various tires depending on race or general event. I use stans juice with tubeless rims. I've never had an issue.

Replace the juice every 2-3 months.

No worries.

YES.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Less Air Pressure=More Traction

Lighter if using Stans.

Cheaper if using Stans

NO FLATS. like really. some people have bad experience. but i think its matter of Tire Choice and Riding Style.

I've been really happy with Bontrager Revolt Super X. Fast-rolling, wear pretty well, widely available.

Hutchinson Spider for agressive XC riding (better grip), Hutchinson Python for XC racing (lower rolling resistance).

And, yes, get a quart of Stan's to eliminate leaking. I once rolled the bead on my rear UST tire on a funky crash avoidance manuevur, a loud hiss of air was stopped immediately, kept on riding.

One you go tubeless you'll never go back.

Never hurts to carry a spare tube, you can always fix a tubeless by throwing in a tube.

I like the Hutchinson Scorpions.

I too had a rim burp with Stans in. I heard the "Fhiip" of air and tire pop off the rim but when I got up and checked, stans didthe trick. No air needed, I finished the race in 1st. Go tubeless, go Stans!!

I like the ust better than tubes, but they can be a hassle sometimes.

Carlsons Schwinn on Minnehaha Ave in Minneapolis got some Kenda Kharma ust accidentally and they can't send them back so they are selling them for $10 a pop just to get rid of them. I picked up 2 sets and they work swell, lighter than the Michelins I was running, but not as burly... i'd say almost a race tire.

I also had problems with air escaping past the valve stem on my Mavic wheels... until I put a dap ot shoe goo around the hole. No more leaks and it'll still come out if I get a flat and have to put in a tube out on the trail.

try 'em out.
