I am going to enter my first race ever this weekend at Spirit Mountain. Is there anything I need for my bike at all? For instance...like how do the numbers get attached to my bike? Do they have stuff for that at the race or do I need to pick anything up for that? Or is it pretty much bring the bike, helmet, camelback, and my lungs and just race? I appreciate any information anybody can give me. Thanks!

They will usually have zip ties or twist ties for the # plates. I would just make sure you pre-ride the course if possible, make sure yer bikes all tuned up and showroom clean, especially drivetrain and braking surfaces. Get there early enough to register and get some warm up time in, other than that, make sure you have water and have fun!

Oh yeah, forgot one other question in regards to that. The race is on Sunday right? Will I be able to preride the course sometime on Saturday or will I have to go out there this week If I can to ride the course? Are there any maps of the course online anywhere? Thanks again.

Youd have to check with the folks at Spirit for pre-ride info, im not up on when you can ride there and so on. As for maps, I have yet to see one for Spirit, maybe someone has something they can post up?

It is my first time racing and I will be pre-riding on saturday afternoon with my uncle. What class are you racing? I am still thinking about sport but 15 miles of single track seems a little much for me, but the quickness of beginner is also scary. Well I am out there to have fun. Later
