Where is the best place to mount the magnet on the spokes to get the most accurate readings? I mounted mine a little off center on the rim side. Seems like it would give different readings if it was closer to the hub as opposed to closer to the rim. I set it up with the right wheel size too.
Thanks,
Todd

It doesn't really matter how far away from the hum you mount the sensor. SInce it will still go around the same number of times. One thing that can realy matter is the circumference. 26 inches is not always 26 inches. it will realy depend on your tire size. There is a difference in circumference between a 2.0 and a 2.1 etc.
As long as you've got that correct you should be good to go.

Todd's right. There is allot of difference in bike tire circumferences and the only true way to accurately dial in the computer is to measure the distance of one wheel rotation and input that.

ALWAYS use the rollout method of measuring and then putting in those #'s in the computer instead of the stock #'s, that helps a ton too!

After really thinking about the placement of that magnet, i realized that it doesn't matter. I did the roll-out method and changed the number from 2055 to 2095. I'll check it out on a paved path that has distance increments marked.
Thanks for the roll-out idea, i had never heard of that.

Small thought on magnet placement:
If the magnet is closer to the axle, it may be less likely to move or shift, as it's not traveling as fast here, and hence has less centrifugal force applied to it. But with most magnets it may not matter either...
