Allright heres the deal. That old cracked busted Marzocchi shock I had has finally been replaced. But I think I got robbed. No, I know I got robbed. It sucks and I don't know what to do. Here's what happened.

I got to a shop in down here in Florida about six months ago and the owner says he ie going to get me a crash replacment for the thing. The cracked shock is a 2002 Marzocchi Marathon. It's a sweet air shock. Finally the guy says Marzocchi cleared it and it's sitting in his shop. I UPS the guy my shock (I'm in West Palm and he is in Ft. Meyers...four hour drive other wise) about two weeks ago and I finally get it today. I take it up to the shop here in West Palm to get it cut down because I don't have the tools for that down here. After the guy cuts it down I look and see its a 2004 MX Comp coil shock. I'm like what the hell. I look in the box and see there is a shock pump fitting and a manual that says 2005.

Here's the deal last week I had enough waiting for the guy to send the thing. This has been going on for six months. I tcall his shop and get a "phone not in service" message. I'm thinking he's all closed up which later I found wasn't true. So I call the Marzocchi rep in California. He tells me he doesn't even have any clearance for a crash replacment from that shop. So What the hell is this guy doing trying to give me this cheaper shock then keep the crash replacment for himself or sell it? Any bike shop people here? What should a guy do about this?

Not to sounds like an *******, but I would have gone directly through Marz, I have done it a few times they have great CS guys(anyone who will ship a 888 over night and not have the broken shock yet is good in my book ) \

Have you tried talking to the local rep? or maybe calling marz direct and filing a complaint or something about the issue may fix it as well!!! Or go beat the new fork out of the shop owner!

Good luck

I called them after I waited three weeks without any response from the shop owner. To be honest Marzocchi doesn't seem to care at all. No help what-so-ever. Every shop owner I talk to down here and every other person I know in this industry says I should call the manufacture and deal through them at this point because the owner/dealer is misrepresenting thier company. Unfortunately I'm not getting the response from Marzocchi that they expected. Yeah and at this point I see that I should have gone through Marzocchi directly. By the way I went out on the thing last night and it changed the geomerty of my bike. After only two miles my hands were so numb I couldn't even use the shift levers. As far as beating the shock out of the owner I don't think I should have to. I think Marzochi should be saying "What? Hang on, we're going to take care of this for you immediately. We can't have our dealers going around doing that to people who are using our products and misrepresenting our company" Unfortunately thats not the case.

Well sounds like you've done all you can do, I would try going to the shop in person...only thing is who is going take back the new fork you cut the steer tube on? Otherwise...really sucks what happened, might try getting a hold of Brian Peterson over on MTBR, he is a super good guy and works for Marz, he may be able to fast track you to someone that can help instead of talking to receptionist.
Good luck
