Just curious who is all going to be racing at 9 Mile on the 30th and 31st. I'll be down there with a team of four. Look for the WOLFCHIMP jersey and a bright orange Klein. See ya there!:crazy2:

My friend and I are doing the duo thing. Hopefully we'll drag a few other friends for support.
I rode the course during WORS' Big Ring classic and it was awesome. I struggled up the long rocky uphill but I hear we would be going down for the 24 Hrs.
Hope to see you there.

Jeff

Will there be a MORC meet-up area or tent at the race? It would be nice to meet some MN folks while over there.

I should be able to get out of work earlier on that Friday than usual. Let me know what time you are looking to take off so I can block off that time at work. Car pooling would be great.

Are you riding Saturday at red wing?

The race is at Nine Mile County Park outside of Wausau, WI (200 miles or so east of the cities). Website is www.24-9.com (http://www.24-9.com). Many different race classes for all types.

If anyone is interested, I am on a two person 12 hour team, but we would be happy to make it a 4 person 24 hour team. Let me know ASAP if you want to get in on this. This is my first 12 hour race, so I'm in it for the fun. C'mon out...

Well, another 24/9 has come and gone. This year there were 600 and some riders, over 100 hundred more than last year. The course was 13.2 miles of fast double track and fun, techinical singletrack. It was a great time and an excellent course. It may have been the best raced course that I have ridden.

My team, the Cyclopaths, had a blast. We took first in the 4 Person Coed Open Class with 20 laps, but it didnt come without its problems. My buddy Jake snapped his GF Sugar frame on the first lap. Luckily he had a back up bike. At 4 in the morning we had to swap the cranks from the broken frame to the working bike because he stripped out his cranks. On top of that, Alicia and I both had night laps that consisted of our main lights going out completely. I'll have to say, it is quite the experience bombing down dark trails with only a small LED headlamp. Ho Chi Minh was really fun with low light. Ha ha ha!

In all, it was a great time and we will be back next year. To all others who raced, I hope you also had a blast. See ya on the trails.:D

I, too, had a great time. This was my first race and I rode with someone I met on the 24-9 message board. We did the duo 12 hr and ended up 13th out of 29 teams with 10 laps. I was happy with the results. I'm definatley up for more racing.....

How is the course compared to afton. In the hill factor that is.

I've never ridden Afton, but I've heard it's not nearly has vicious climbing wise. The loops is 13 miles long and an extremely good lap time is a little over an hour. It starts out with about 6 miles of mainly double track with some long climbs and ends up with about 6 miles of mainly single track with a few climbs and some tricky rock gardens.

Ya ready.....51'15"!!!! oooops....a 51'06" also. Missed it cause it was his second lap.
The SS team came in second overall.
