I just received some new Time Z-Control pedals in the mail today. These things TOTALLY rock! You get the easy, mud & snow-proof entry of Time ATAC's, plus a bigger down-hill style pedal platform for riding with street shoes or unclipping in particularly gnarly trail sections. IMHO these things are pedal perfection!

Coolness. I'll be interested to see how you like those. I'm slightly ashamed to say I haven't had to clip out a whole lot in the past, but with some of the new obsticles coming this year it might be smart to start looking at something with this functionality. (I assume a person really doesn't want to stay clipped in going accross elevated platforms etc.)
Let us know how they work!

Ashamed??? Not clipping out while going over obstacles is a sign you've mastered the skill.
That said. Being able to clip out is critical. If you're needing to clip out, and your pedals don't let you... That's the topic of another thread...

Steve!?!?!?!
How Much!!!!
I just found out the government is going to owe me quite a bit this year( i.e. I lent a bunch of money to them) and I really need a set of those for the Single.
Let Me Know.

James,
$99.95 at BikeMan.com (sorry local bike shops - I checked, but couldn't find anyone stocking them yet!)
FYI - there's also a cheaper version for $69.95 that's pretty much the same design. The main difference is the cheaper version doesn't have the nicely machined platform surfaces. FWIW - I'll probably buy the cheaper ones for my 1x1. Ellie got the fancy ones!

Hmm, decisions,
Now to decide between the two. Think I'll keep the ATAC carbons on the Adept and just put a set of the Controls on the 'Tude

Speaking of pedals, Steve, do you still have that pair of Power Grip pedals? I have a Fuel 80 coming in in March and am going to need another pair.
Thanks,
Hans :D

I have a set of PowerGrip pedals w/straps, still new in the box. They're yours for $20. I think that's about $10 less than the going mailorder price, which sounds about right.

p.s. Fuel 80 eh? that should make for a nice ride!

Picked up a set of these pedals and a set of the regular ATAC's this weekend. Haven't used them yet (still using 2 sets of Ritchey pedals for my MTB's) but I like the idea of using one set of cleats for all my shoes/pedals (with the exception of my completely different road pedals, of course).
The Z's will get swapped between my huckin' bike and my singlespeed and the ATAC's will get swapped between my hardtail, full sus, and 'cross bikes.

OK, Does anyone else who have these pedals notice that they have play in the axles straight out of the box? I am pretty ticked. These things should come out of the box ready to go and not need adjustment.
On the subject... is adjustment even possible? I might go look for the service manual on Time's web site.
