View Full Version : Finally rode LHs...
So I finally got out to Leb. pretty cool trail, flows alright, I have a few suggestions, but I will keep them to myself. I can see why the XCers like it! Those newbs need to learn how to brake right though, some nasty braking bumps on some of the corners, or wait maybe that was the single speeders I couldn't tell! hahahaha
Great trail guys, fun even on my 9 speed 55+ pd DH bike! :D

I had an excellent ride with you guys. It was great to finally put faces with names for Buck, Pete and I believe it was Dusty. Thanks for the free redbull too.

One of the perks of riding with a Red Bull employee! hahaha, great riding with you, I had a good time! For any one else that may have been there I was the noisy guy manualing sections and brapping in the berms! hahaha

OOOOH its on like donkey kong. I'm a poor college student barely making ends meet, I ride what I have. No poser single speed light weight crap for me, DH FOR LIFE B!TCHES!!!!!!!!!!!! :p  it was painful, but in a fun way! pinner all the way! w00t! And I have been known to do stupid things! hahahahaha
Hell yean most of it was fast as hell and I kept up with three dudes on XC bikes, I can rally when I need too. :hit: If people want my input I'll give it, I think it rocks as is but if they are alright with it I'll go do some shoveling out there! For me a couple more berms or built up ones would make that place pinner, and only people going fast would benefit, so it wouldn't make the trails any harder, I was moto gliding most of then which was a blast!
Thanks for the work dudes! I see how it set the bar!

Here's a guy with about a yard of suspension, now crying that his bike is too heavy.
If you want a light bike, get a rigid singlespeed! Oops, did I say that? Where's my backspace ^h ^h ^h ^h . AAAAHHHH my brain is melting!
Welcome to the dark side :D

I don't think that he was whining were you Buck? But more showing that he could keep up with the XCers. Anyway, I've ridden a heavy rig there and yep it's fun on the downhills but a beyatch on the ups. Buck, you still need to get out to the Farm or the lesser known *&^&*^. They both rock and I'd love to see you keep up with XCers at either of those places :) I ride my AC there and it ain't easy.

Buck's just an example of the old addage: "It's not the bike, it's the rider."

maybe that was the single speeders
hmmmm.......everytime I see someone sliding their rear around, it's a shirtless, helmetless guy with a fullie. I ask them, "Why don't you want to go fast?", and they just look at me with a blank stare. Ah youth, so much to learn. ;)

I reiterate from the other thread... "It's like Buck is a new Christmas toy for these XC guys." Glad you had fun at Lebanon Buckeroo.

......because we are?
I rarely touch my Mark Zeh Ti hardtail anymore, and I'm selling the Orbea dualie. It hasn't been ridden in over a year. If I use gears in the woods, it's usually my cross bike or road bike.

Buck so quick to forget Stoneage taking his cross bike down the new armoured section at Afton...I would imagine Bill could figure out a way to ride the course on a cross bike.

Not to be a pot-stirrer, but this kind of divisiveness is something we don't need in the mountain biking community. I know everyone's just (mostly) having fun with each other, but it still bugs me for some reason.
"If you don't ride a ____ bike, you're not a 'real' _____ biker." "You can't ride ____ with a ____ bike!" Bullsh!t.
I'm a cyclist. I give the smile & nod to everyone I see on a bike of any kind, be a carbon roadie, a beat-up commuter, BMX, recumbent, unicycle, highwheel, fixie, tricycle, FS MTB, whatever. Bikes is bikes is bikes, and we all like riding them, so shut up and enjoy yourself.

Yeah, but if we don't put an end to this diversity now it will only get worse:
- Walkers with knobbies on them
- Those Deluxe baby strollers.....the SUV looking ones
- Skateboards with knobbies
- Kids on Big Wheels
- Those silly Off-Road rollerbladers!
Put an end to diversity now or else!!!!

My point exactly. I coach the UofM team and the MN junior team. We have to ride rollers in the winter to get ready for the early season. Then we train on the road (the best way to get fit), and use the the track bike at the velodrome for leg speed work. After the work is done, I jump on the fixie to go to concerts and bars, the cross bike to ride off road and develop handling skills, and the hardtail for an occasional race, and the ss for most other off road racing, and, of course the road bike for racing.A dualie isn't necessary for anything I do in Minnesota, though I like to use one in Wyoming, Fruita and Vail. I can just rent one if I go out there. I had a BMX cruiser, but I loaned it to my nephew and never got it back. That's cool, because he's riding a bike.

So, now that I finally stepped into the "dark side", you are saying that a FS gearie is really okay? I just can't keep up with these trends.

Absolutely okay, but probably not as much fun as your Karate Monkey :D Besides, there's just something fun about being able to rock a trail without gears or suspension. Fun is good. Heck, fun is fun.
Now if you really want to jump on the trend bandwagon, get yourself a Willie Nelson bandana. All the cool kids are doing it. . . :eyeroll:
