So I decided it would be a good couple of days to ride into work today and tomorrow (despite the hurricane-force winds out there today), doing my part for the environment and basically not spending $2.29/gallon to drive my Jeep. On my way I was suddenly and viciously* attacked, with no provocation...
...by a bird. :D Seriously, I had a bird assault my helmet as I was riding down the road. I don't know if the bird thought I looked tasty, or looked like a good place to take a quick breather, but I was rather taken aback by it. Fortunately, the rest of the ride went without incident.
*not viciously

Where was this attack? Bodega Bay, CA? Did you run to a phone booth and watch seagulls bludgeon themselves on the glass as they came at you?

Actually, I wonder if the helmet was the provocation for the bird. I may have been safer helmetless!

Last time I rode Theo I was attacked by a low-hanging branch. The end of it somehow found its way into one of my helmet vent holes as I rode underneath. All of a sudden I felt this pressure on my head as the branch tried to pull me off the bike, luckily it popped out of the helmet with a big boing! and I stayed upright. Could have been ugly.
