Salem Hills Trail Work June 30th 6:00pm

Ok all,

The city and Trailsource have continued work at Salem, and we need to get people out there to finish off the work they have done.

We have had good crews the last 3 weeks and progress is looking good.

We will once again be spreading out the dirt from dingo work, some backslope cutting, and grubbing out stumps and shaving roots from the trail tread.

We will be working just north of the bridge on the west side of the pond if you get there late this week. When we are done there we will be moving north along the trail from the bridge.

Hey all,

With all the rain we have had, and the amount projected for tonight and tomorrow, Trailwork is up in the air.

I will check out the conditions of the trail tonight and tomorrow at noon and post up here if trailwork is still on or not.

Salem is very hard to work on when wet due to no tree's and high moisture retention soil. Plus it looks like once the rain passes the wind is going to die and the temp is going to stay low so everything will dry slower then earlier this week.

I'll keep you all posted.

Ok All,

I was just out walking the trail real quick over lunch and it should be perfect for working on tonight. Dry enough to move easily, but damp enough to pack well.

If we do get any significant amount of rain this afternoon I will probably have to call it off since the water will have no where to go.

I will swing by the park about 4:00pm and have a final posting up here by 4:30.


At this time Trailwork is a go and we will be meeting in the parking lot at 6:00pm!!!!
