The Backcountry Trail Patrol will be holding a work day at the Simpson Creek Trail System, Friday, July 1, 2005 at 11 AM. Meet at the Cutfoot Sioux Visitor Center, Hwy. 46 near Inger, MN. We will be doing trail clean-up and clearing for the USF Centennial the following day, and working on our campsite project if time allows. There will be an all-you-can-eat fish fry following the work session, at the Gosh Dam Place on Hwy. 46 at Federal Dam Rd.

Please shoot an email to backcountry@trailpatrol.org if you will be attending.

Ride safe,

We have big plans for Simpson and Cutfoot over the next year, including building new sections of singletrack, re-routing some of the wet areas, and getting rid of that blasted beaver dam! (Or should that read "Blast the beaver damn"?) Itasca Trail Sports in Grand Rapids has started working with us some, and even refered two riders from Texas to Simpson this weekend. They really liked everything but the deer flies! If there is a shop in Bemidji that you think would like to be part of what we are doing in the Chippewa, let me know, and I will make contact with them. As always we will post what we are doing here and on our website, www.trailpatrol.org (http://www.trailpatrol.org/)

Hope to see you on the trails!

Ride safe,

Man, Itasca trail sports stared at me funny when I asked them about simpson creek two weeks ago. I talked to a female worker there, she didn't seem to know much about it. We found it eventually when we stopped in Deer River. I was referred to some guys that are building in the grand rapids area and hold a tuesday night group ride at 4...

As for a bike shop in Bemidji, we have The Home Place Bike and Ski, they're good guys. Let me get you their number. (218) 751-3456

And, there's also a shop in Park Rapids that might be interested, they're also some good guys. I'll get you the number to Northern Cycle when I grab my wallet out of my truck.

Talk to you later, glad to see something happening up in this neck of the woods.
