I'm heading out to Lebanon with a MORC tent for this one today. Probably get there around 10:15. I'll have a couple MORC shirts with me. No XL's on me :(

Successful day. Ran out of membership apps. Signed up 8 members, 7 new, 1 renewal. Sold a few shirts.

Thanks to Mike C. for helping man the tent for a few hours, and for hooking me and some new MORC members up with powerade.

Ryan L. also dropped by for a few minutes.

Also said hey to quite a few other current MORC members. Good to see all of the green socks out!

Next weekend (Sunday, 17th), the tents will be out at the time trial at Lebanon Hills.

I keep hearing about these mythical "green MORC socks". Aren't you supposed to get these when you join MORC? Oh well, no one ever taught me the secret handshake yet either...

When our last batch of socks ran out, the board moved that we send out stickers with the memberships instead of socks.

OK I'm going to be a nit picker now. If the board moved not to send out socks then you should change the web site which STILL says:
"Membership has many benefits, but the most important is that you will be supporting increased access for mountain cyclists. Click here to join or renew online. (and get a free pair of socks!"

If I ain't gettin' socks you keep the bumper sticker. I have no use for a bumper sticker.

My current MORC socks are showing signs of wear and I was looking forward to a new pair :cryin:

I really don't care if we get socks with our MORC memberships or not. But, I do think it is important to at least have them available for sale, like the Jersey's. That way when mine, or anyone else's, wear out........I can get a new pair....:)

I agree. I know socks are a pain in the butt to order and distribute, not to mention expensive, but they're a great way to spread the word and much less expensive than a jersey. Okay, and they fit me while the jerseys don't. More me now. ;)

Plus the fact that socks wear out a lot faster than Jersey's. If replacements are not available they will disappear. I don't think the stickers will be as effective as the socks for getting the word out.

We can give you socks if you need a new pair. (lawyers scare me hehe)

There are still sign-in sheets out there that still say "socks" and if we get em' we honor them.

I'll fix the web site, but the online forms all say stickers. (or should anyway) - if you see mention of socks anywhere please be real specific as to where so I can fix it.

I agree that they should be available, however, to members. Online might be tough because its costly to sell and distribute small items - but definitely at events etc.
