The only thing new I've seen lately are kids with no helmets riding bikes from Target and they stop right in front of you and don't get out of the way as you climb the final hill to the rolling downhill section. :geek:

Be excited they too are enjoying mtb biking and try to take the time to educate them on proper trail etiquette. My last 4 rides were with beginners at a pace that barely felt like we were moving. It's worth it to see the look on someone's face as they clear an obstacle for the first time. And 2 of them have purchased nice new bikes in the last 2 weeks to take full advantage of our trail system. That's $1600 dumped into the LBS economy. More important is that more people on the trails enjoying them=more public acceptance=more public support=more public access & money. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

True, very true..and I'm all for the mtb community to grow here. I think this sport is going to grow and change so much. I have been addicted to mtn biking for 14 years now. I'll try to be pro active next time, it's the right thing to do.

;) My first two mtbkes were from target too. Together they last a total of 3 days, then I got a '91 Trek 930. Now it's just gotten ridiculous. Ain't nothin' wrong with a Target bike. That Schiwnn cruiser they have is really sweet! The mtbkes just didn't work for me.

Meh, the frames are OK, no DH, bulletproof designs, components are bad, but really its just the 16 year old's bulding the things at target that makes them so bad.. funny thing is seeing all the big name companies selling out to big discount stores now (IE walmart, traget, etc) I will shoot my self the day I see Hayes or avid discs on a walmart bike..

Every once in a while I pick up a Mountain Bike UK magazine from Barnes & Noble and this month they had an awesome article about 2 pro downhillers riding cheap bikes from the early 90's on the same trails they do with there expensive bikes. Flippin' hilarious, check it out.:etard:
