What size should a pic be to post it in a gallery?

I was thinking I should start posting some of my pics but I am curious about what the dimensions should be. Can any of you wth gallery pics help me out? Thanks.

Usually for web images 72 dpi and 100 x 65 pixels (for small pictures) and anywhere between 640 x 480 pixels at 72 dpi for larger ones.. If you have no idea what dpi is or pixels are I can elaborate. I'm guessing you do know though.
