I have someone who is interested in buying a new bike, and would like to try out one for a day at Lebanon Hills. He would also like some bikes for his brothers to ride there.
Anyone know of anywhere that demos/rents bikes and how that works? Has anyone tried it?  I know Penn in Bloomington has some demo bikes, but I am just looking for more information to share with this guy.
Thanks!!:crazy2:

I'd give them a call; I'd be surprised if the list of bikes available for rent (2003's ?!) is up to date. I've never rented from there, but I spoke to a sales guy about it at the Bloomington office, and it seems like a fairly straight-forward and relatively cheap way of trying a mid-to-high price ride. They credit the $35/day rental to the purchase of a new bike from Penn Cycle, too.
Erik's will demo bikes. I took one of their Canadales and Spec. to Leb for a day last Fall. The local reps for Spec and Cannodale have a fleet and you can demo them through a local dealer. Not sure what other brands do this also.
I think it is a great way to get a bike out on the trail to see if you really like it. Much better than rideing around a parking lot.

Calhoun cycles in uptown has a rental office. Last time I rented there (about 3 years ago), it was about $35/day for a FS bike.
