Or whatever the italian word for Allez is. :D

Paolo Savoldelli has a good chance to win the Giro. He's got 2 minutes on Simoni if he can just keep it together on the one hard day remaining.

I would think this would also win him a spot in the Discovery TdF team.

Savoldelli's upcomiong victory is pretty cool. But I firmly believe that Ivan Basso would have won this year, if he hadn't got the stomach flu.
I can't wait to see how Basso does in this years TdF, he's going to be a force.

"He's one of our strongest riders and already knew from this winter that his personal goal for the season was the Giro, and that I would also count on him in the Tour to ride in support of Lance," said team manager Johan Bruyneel in a team statement, who picked Savoldelli to ride even before the start of the Giro.
"I think it's possible to do both, but on a high level would be difficult. We do expect Paolo to be there in the high mountains of the Tour," added Bruyneel.

Yeah it seemed like Basso was going to sweep up, but you always have to wonder did he get sick because of bad luck, or because he buried himself to many days in a row.

It is a dynamic that had never occured to me until Beloki's bad crash in 2003, you can look at it like it was just bad luck, or that he was overextending himself to keep up with Lance.

I do look forward to seeing what he (Basso) does in the TdF, somebody has to give that old fart Texan some fear in his last tour.
