 I went out to salem hills the on Teusday without my bike during rush hour to see just how saturated the trails are. To my displeasure there was 2 sets of bike tracks through the trail. Close circuit to the MORON who put a rut on the trail an inch and a half deep. DON"T RIDE WHEN THE CONDITIONS ARE LIKE THAT use common sense.
There are a lot of guys and gals that do a lot of work on the trails that we have the priviledge of riding on. I respect these guys a lot for the time they are able to take away from riding and maintain our trails.and are responsible for building new trails. Don't make their work harder than it should be.
oh yeah to get my point across I would like to pee in your gas tank to get even with you for your lack of common sense or lack of regard for others work and the trails sake.

This has been discussed many times, but I really believe that most (but not all) of the people riding wet trails don't realize the damage they are doing to the trail.

Unfortunately the only ones that are riding the trails are the ones who don't care or don't know. Writing a post like that doesn't really work because everyone who frequently gets on the MORC forums knows that we shouldn't be on the trails. I was at Penn cycle on Sun. and when I was there, I noticed 3 Gary Fisher bikes in the back of a truck that were full of mud. I certainly hope they weren't riding that day but there bikes got full of mud somehow. I wanted to wait for them but I didn't. I was too pissed off that I wasn't able to ride. If you don't catch them in the act, it's hard to really say anything. So the trail is pretty wet I take it? Salem usually dries out fast due to the sand and good trail building. I hope I can hit it here this weekend. We just need a day to dry out.:etard:

...is why ride Salem wet when you can hit the KOD instead?
Silly rabbits, mud is for kids.

I think that the other piece of the puzzle is that people are getting very desperate to ride.
To take care of the issue of people not knowing any better, it would be good to have trail open and closed signs, then if someone rides you they are doing it because they don't care. It would nice if the city folks would be willing to take care of changing the signs. I think Hillside has pretty good signage, I can't remember if they say open or closed though.

Only if you don't know how to clean it, every now and then I'll make a run to a secret spot to ride in rain and water trails, helps keep the skills up.

I know that Terrace Oaks has a sign at the entrance that says closed or open which seams to work for the person who might not know any better. The mountain bikers who don't give a crap will ride trails regardless. Those are the ones that I'd like to knock some sense into.:etard:
