Um ... :eyeroll:

Somebody need to have a conversation with 3RPD about riding trails when wet? :)

(I'd be interested in teaching either class here, too unless there are others ...)

I will be in touch with them about that one. I guess that means we can teach everyone not to ride in the MUD!

As for how to sign up. Just by posting that is good enough. I will be in contact when it gets closer to the date.

Just a reminder that this is coming up this week. Try to get out there about .5 hour before the starting time. Post up here if you plan on helping out.

Thanks,
Erik

Right now we have only 6 people registered, update from 3RPD for this one. So if Chris, myself and one more person can be there we will have more than enough to cover the class.

I haven't heard anything new so I am assuming there is going to be around 6 people. Chris if you are still game I think that you and I can handle it.

Last night's class was a lot of fun! I think we've got about 6 new converts to the cause :). There was an older married couple (60+?) that really seemed to catch on fast. One guy had an MTB he used for commuting, in his 20s and already enjoys kyacking, so of course he was more-or-less a natural for the sport.

The real surprise of the night was 52-year-old Deb who just bought her MTB Saturday after years and years of never even touching another bike. By the end of the night she was clearing rock gardens and log rolls on the intermediate loop!

Saw you getting ready for the group class last night. Felt like coming over and giving the newbies a big "YEHAA you'll love it! But I took a dive on a log section of the X loop with my son and was bleeding pretty good from my lip to my chin and I thought that wouldn't look too good. Had a blast anyway though. It's nice seeing new people getting into the sport. Keep up the good work.

I had fun teaching this class. I have one question though: How do you tell someone when to shift gears when your riding a singlespeed???.....:D

Erik,

I know you said that you thought you would not be able to do so, but have looked into a change of venu for the Three Rivers MTB 102? I would love to see the class moved to a place we could do some more technical riding and some singletrack.

I can't speak for Erick, but I do know he's looking into this with 3RPD. We really don't know how we're going to conduct an intermediate school on those "trails" we were on at Elm Creek. "How to ride slow and laboriously on grass" was not one of the lessons we were really keen on teaching. ;)

I will say you did a wonderful job with what you had. I know I will never look at curbs the same way again...

I have an email into 3RPD about this. I will keep this thread updated if something changes. If you want to you could sign up for the MTB 102 at Leb. Its a drive, but well worth it.

Done. Plus, I was able to sign my brother up for the same price as just one of us at 3rpd... :D

Although it's not a three rivers park, could this be done at theo? Probably the closest place to Elm Creek that has suitable trails for a mtb 102.

I still haven't heard back from 3RPD about what is going to happen with 102. I would love to have it at Theo.

We could always meet up at Elm Creek, wait until no 3RPD officials are looking and then quick have everyone load up the bikes in the cars again and drive over to Theo ;)

Oh yeah, sorry about that. This class has been cancelled. If you had signed up for it you should of already received something from 3RPD letting you know.

Yeah, man! We'll have to hook up for a ride sometime. Shad and I were remakring how we haven't ridden together for a while, so maybe a threesome some day?

I tell ya, that's what it takes to re-ignite the spark between Shad and I. We used to do that several times a week ... then it went down to once a week and now hardly at all. Once a month if we're lucky. Maybe if he lost some weight I'd be more interested again ... I just don't know ...

:)
