MORC is working with Dakota County to put on two Mountain Bike classes.
MTB 101 will be on June 22 from 6:30 - 9 PM at Lebanon Hills. This class will be beginning mountain biking, basics of braking, shifting and steering (Beginner loop).
MTB 102 will be on July 20 from 6:30 - 9 PM at Lebanon Hills. This class will be teaching how to handle log overs, climbs and turns (Intermediate loop).
Post up if you are interested in helping out with these classes. We will need around 4 people to help out.

I'd love to do the 101 class. :)
* How to shift: get a single speed.
Heh heh ... guess I'd have to break out the geared bike for that one, eh? Seriously, put me down as interested. I'd love to get beginners into the sport. :)

I will still be there if I am needed but if there are enough others to help, I would prefer to wait until the MTB 102 class. I have become over busy with preparations for a home remodeling project and right now there is a giant ash tree spread out on my back yard and I have to remove it. I did like helping last year so if nobody steps up, I can be there.

Looks like I will be there to help. I was going to do the ride before Larry plays. But I will do these classes instead, then go see Larry and have beers afterwards.
Sorry MOCA fella's....but I will meet up with you at the Uptown Bar and Grill later....:)

So how about if the trail is unrideable which it could very well be after the huge dumping it just took?
Is it just a parking lot course then?

We will just do the parking lot. I am hopefull of how quick the rain came down that it wouldn't soak much. Though there may be some new log crossings out there.

On last check there was 10 people going to be at the class, so if Chris, Shad and myself are there that should be good. See you guys around 6:00.

Just a reminder that this Wednesday is MTB 102 at Leb. So who is up for helping? I believe Shad and Chris are going to help again, how about anyone else?
Its from 6:30 to 9:00, a good reason to go out to Leb, again!

Yeah, I plan to come out and help. I am going to get beat up by my MOCA pals on this one......but I love to help teach people how to enjoy mountain biking.

No need to feel guilty Shad,
Someone has to train the new riders and talk them into coming out and riding and working on Theo.

I was thinking the same way as James, the more we get out there in the beginner classes the better chance we can get them to come out to trail work.
Hi, When does trail work occur? I can come out and help some night at Theo...
Shad, I never had a chance to thank for taking Andi and I out on the beginner ride at RB a few Fridays ago...I learned alot...Thanks!!

.......and thank you two for showing up. It was nice to see some motivated women out there who want to rock the trails.
Trailwork sessions are usually posted in the individual trail threads. For Theo it is Wednesday evenings at 5:00. You can show up later if you can't make it on time. Meet in the Par 3 lot. You will find those at the top. Hope to see you out there.....:)

I had planned to help on this one but my wife got stuck working late Wednesday and so I need to hang out with my daughter. Sorry.
This year has been a killer on my free time.

Is Leb dry after the rain? I don't know how much rain Leb got last night.
I assume this class is still on.

Considering how dry things have been I'm guessing Lebanon would actually be in quite good shape by this afternoon.

Chris, Erik, and Shad,
You guys did an awesome job with the classes. After last night I feel confident I can get out to the trails and ride (granted there were a few places I got tripped up). I hope to see you guys out there!
Thanks again,
Chris
