Hey all. We've got a new web address for the Memorial Trail happenings. Due to some server issues we are now at www.muddyriverrace.com (http://www.muddyriverrace.com). Visit now, visit often. Let us know what you all think.
Remember to send us your photos of you Memorial Bluff adventures for the photo gallery.
Also, note that we are planning some trail work for next weekend (Sat. May 21). For all those interested in the signage (Porter) we'd love your help that day in placing the signs. I've got arrows all done up in the garage right now so if the weather's good next weekend we could have directionals at least.

Thanks for the updated link. Probably a good idea to update the MNSCS page as well:

Thank you for the link and the work on an awesome site - however - the fonts are really small and hard to read, please accept as constructive feedback my retort.
Thanks,
Trogolodyte - :D

Aghh! Sorry Kris, can't make trailwork this weekend due to a wedding in the family.
Double Aghh!!! I finally thought I'd be free to race/help out with the Muddy River Rock and Roll but I'll be out of the general vicinity for a week starting the day before. Oh well. There is always next year. Let me know if I can help with setup or something when we get closer to the event.

Kris- I hope you got the email I sent about the wedding I have on Saturday in Winona. I dont think I'll be able to make it to the trail work at all now. I do plan on racing the Muddy River Rock n Roll on the 24th of July and I would be happy to help set up if needed. Hope to hear from you. Thanks.

Bummer on the wedding. Hope the happy couple had a good day adn that the service wasn't outdoors.
We got some stuff done today in terms of some maintenance and construction. A reroute of a problem area of trail is now complete including a new log feature! Good stuff.
The teeter has been fixed so feel free to ride it again (even though some never quit riding it!). It's nice to see the teeter back in working order again. I'm going up tomorrow to ride it and can't wait. It's been too long.
We've got a couple more dates planned so it would be great to see everyone. Especially the June date because we are hoping to build the bridge over the ravine trail to the quarry. All hands on deck would be great for that date.
Later everyone. Look for pictures from today's work and tomorrow's ride on the trail website in the next couple of days!

Definitely get ahold of me when you are building the bridge. I'd love to be in on that, as well as other work that may be done. Can't wait to ride the teeter again. Thanks for fixing it. Hopefully we can ride sometime soon. I should be riding in RW on Saturday around 1pm. Shoot me a PM if you are free.

Great work this past weekend Kris (and Gus and everyone else that showed up)!
The new section of trail is starting to get worked in a bit. I'm still poking through it pretty slow, but it's a fun little section. Plus the logs at the exit are pretty cool.
One word of warning, if anyone is going down the downhill section that heads to the golf course: There is a tree that is about chest height across the trail just after the big log drop (roughly 2/3 of the way down the hill). This could be pretty nasty as if someone is bombing the downhill and flies off the drop there won't be much chance for braking. There doesn't seem to be too many people that actually take this trail though, so it isn't an emergency. I may try and hike up/down and bowsaw the thing into oblivion if it looks like rain tomorrow night (instead of spending a couple hours riding).
Thanks again for the great work.

Just a reminder to all who may be viewing this thread. A couple of us are riding in RW on saturday 5-28-05 around 1 pm. Anyone interested can meet us up on top of Memorial Park at that time or PM me and we'll arrange a rendezvous point.
Great work on the trail you guys! Had a chance to ride it for the first time in a year or so. Rode it tuesday night and conditions were superb for the most part. Trail was nice and tacky. I'm not sure if I hit everything, but it sure was fun!
Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the great feedback! It's great to hear that others enjoy the trails as much as us locals do. It proves that all of the work is worth it. Drop a pm sometime when you will be in the area and I'll see if I can pull together the local crew for a ride. It's always fun to ride with different folks. Thanks again!

Hey all, where do ya'll park? I was there a couple of weeks ago, saw the construction at the golf course - is it ok to park at the golf course?

Hi Michael, were you coming up 58 from Rochester? If so, the method I'd take would be to come into town on 58, and at the first 4-way stop in town take a right (liquor store and Kwik Trip are at the corners, 7th St. I think). Follow 7th until Memorial is on the right. Drive up and park on the side of the road pretty much right after the road splits and you start heading towards the back of the bluff.
Having said that I think that parking at Mississippi National is fine. Bikers have been parking there in the spring for a while and I don't think anyone has grumbled.
