Schedule:

Bike Patrol training is set for Saturday, May 14th from 9am to 5pm. In the morning we’ll be talking about MORC, IMBA, National Mountain Bike Patrol and where we fit into all this as well as our roles and responsibilities as patrollers and how to interact with land managers. We’ll break for lunch around noon and have one or two guest speakers around 1 o’clock. John Moriarty from Ramsey County Parks will be speaking about Battle Creek Park and its history and future. There may also be a Ramsey County Park Deputy coming to talk about what you can expect as a patroller in the park, as well as rules and regulations to follow there. After the guests leave we will talk about trail, environmental, and social issues to be followed by First Aid, basic bike repair, and finally weather permitting riding skills.

Directions:

To get to the park take I94 to White Bear Ave. Turn south and take it to Upper Afton Rd. Turn left and go to Winthrop St. and turn right. Just past the ball fields turn right into the parking lot. Training will be in the shelter near the southeast corner of the lot. Look for the MORC tent.
