Looks like the roomie had some harsh light to deal with today. Best shot is the rider 'tween the trees. I only would have liked to see more trail, but good framing. Seeing you do this stuff sometimes, and I stress sometimes, makes want to go out and get a big bike. Certainly looks like fun stuff.

Pics were selected for reason, meant to tease not give a way the trail! There was a guy riding today with a c-dale HT he got claimed by the little drop hard core! It was awesome, he was fine and laughing when he got up! Anyway good times, light was kinda harsh b/c of all the shadows, don't know what happened that really dark shot??? but whatever! He was really messing with all the different focus things, got some cool shots that I may post later. Oh, and he just told me he likes to over saturate his shots...whatever is what I say, I'm used to being behind the lense not infront of it, so it was cool to go get some pics!!!

Here is a better shot of the rocks, they claimed me today, came into them fast hell, and as my roommate described a chunk of rock flew up higher then my head, then I started tumbling until I came to rest against a pine tree like 10' past the rock gardn thank god for my full face cuz my bike nailed my face!!!

Buck, is this gonna be able to be ridden whenever we want or is it just for the Green Man race?
Buck, is this gonna be able to be ridden whenever we want or is it just for the Green Man race?
This is one of two pilot trails, this would be the DH course that they are allowing, so yes it is open now...But since I am the race director for the Greenman DH I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and get a new DH course for the race and re-vamp a half built down hill course to get Spirit open, good thinking eh??? ;) :)
IT IS NOT DONE THOUGH, these are pics of the new section which isn't complete so ride at your own risk. IF you can find it that is...follow the old DH course and you will see this new section towards the bottom. Just got back from riding it in, it has held up amazingly well for all the rain we've gotten up here yesterday the trail was tacky and rideable some newb found it though and skidded down the whole damn thing, hahahaha...it happens...anyway no damage was done, and a line is starting to ride in nicely, today I raked leaves up against the tread so it looks like it has been there for some time, alittle more rain and it'll look like a trail that has been there for a long time!

Excited to hear about the building that is going on at Spirit Mt. My son and I are thinking about going to the Greenman races . . . sounds like a good time. Used to head to Lutsen a couple times a year but it won't be the same with Moose closed.
So, where exactly on Spirit is the downhill run? I'm assuming biker's far right based on the terrain but that is just a guess. Can you shed some light?
P.S. If you're interested in an extended road trip, there is some good riding in Thunder Bay and surrounding areas. Check it out at http://www.weknowbikes.com/video_001.html

I bet you know a guy named Ziggy does alot of filming up that way??? Logic films?
The trail that is up and going right now: This is starting from the parking lot in front of the chalet. Go right of the chalet, then go down to to the access road and look left into the 1st clump of trees, it'll be right there!

I think that is someone else . . . too many "MadMikes" floating around. We're everywhere . . . taking over the world!! Muhaha!!
Seriously, there is some good riding in and around TBay (downhill, singletrack, dirt jumping) but Screiber (1.5 hrs east of here) is awesome if you're into "shore style" stunts. Two guys have singlehandedly built up most of it over several years. The newest trail is a shuttable downhill run that takes over 30 minutes to descend. Looking forward to checking it out this year. Let me know if you're heading up and I can hook you up with some locals who can show you around.

Yup . . . Ziggy = Logic Films. He's usually behind the camera but has been known to ride occasionally (see attached pic of him in action).
Thanks for the info on the trail location. We'll be down at least once before the races to do some practice runs. My son is on an orange VP-Free and I've got a brushed aluminum Gemini 2000. Maybe we'll run into you at the hill . . .
