There will be trail work every Saturday at Steeplechase from 8:30 until around noon or until you get tired.
We will also be setting up some weekday sessions in the evening for those who race on the weekends.
Only on the weekends??? hahahaha I'll be there every night, that **** is going to buff!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!!

Are you thinking about hosting some sort of event this summer for fr/dh? It would be cool to get people down to see the trail.
I'm planning on a Time trail on the XC trail in late summer/early fall. Hopefully, it's ready by then.
Plenty of work to do!
Carl.

HECK YEAH!!!
I want to get a DH event(s) out there by Mid-June...I've already talked with Kevin, we need to hash a few more things out, but I want to make sure we do it right, so RASC should be involved with it from the get go! So either you or Jeff, or whoever the head racing honcho is for RASC, Jeff should be in the loop anyway we do it, he did some awesome work on the course and getting things rolling!!!

If you are thinking of insuring/sanctioning through NORBA, I can certainly help with that end.
The best route to go would be when I get home, have a meeting with Kevin, yourself, Jeff, and I. Then we can figure everything out we need to do right there!

Just to avoid any misunderstandings -
Steeplechase is open for trail building sessions ONLY (which may involve some "testing"). RASC is coordinating with the owner for all access at this time. This does not mean that we cannot setup something up for special times etc, it just means that it needs to be coordinated through RASC, and RASC will coordinate with the owner. This is the deal.
If you don't want to help build the trails, that's fine, but you will have to wait until the official opening to ride.
Again, please do not circumvent the agreement we have with owner. If people start trespassing, that will damage our relationship with him.
Buck - this isn't aimed at you. I know that you have been working with the right people. I just wanted to clarify for others who might be reading this thread. Peace.
Carl.

Sounds good to me Carl! From talking with the owner it sounds like some insurance things need to be worked out still. So please listen to what Carl said, it would be a shame to see this place close b/c of stupidity. :geek:

hey Carl-
You work with my brother Ryan... Let him know if you're having any weekday trail building stuff going on and try to drag him out. I'll have about 3 weeks of free time in the near future, so I'd be down for it too.

We are renting a Dingo this weekend and will be working from 8:30 until 4:30 on Saturday (5/21) and Sunday (5/22). Come and go as you need.
We got about 1 km done by hand in the last 2 weeks. The Dingo will speed things up, but we still need hands to do the finishing work etc.
