We are putting together a Saturday patroller training session at Battle Creek. I had originally hoped to have it in April but it looks like it will be pushed back until mid-May. Several people have expressed an interest in becoming a MORC Patroller and I have promised more training sessions this year. The training is open to anyone who is interested. Official dates are being solidified and I'll post them as soon as I have them and will send out emails to those who have expressed an interest individually. If you have an questions on what patrolling is all about give me a call or send me an email.

Training is also being planned for Lebanon Hills and some undecided locations. If you have requests for locations let me know.

Alden,
Mike and I have a couple of new people from Backcountry and Barmy Dogs patrols who might be better able to attend training here in the cities. Also. if you hold the training on May 7th or 14th, I am not working and could help you with teaching.

Let me know if any of this works for you.

Hans and all interested parties. The training will definately not be May 7th because of Erik's Spring Cup at Buck Hill. May 14th is very much a possibility were looking into though.

The Cable Classic is the 14th and I'd really like to attend the trail patrol training....:) Any possibility of an alternate date?

There will be training dates throughout the summer but this is the only one that is tentative so far. If you have any requests let me know.

I'd like to request a date that isn't on May 14th...I'll be filming a Red Bull Kayak contest here in Duluth.

Thanks

Mike reminded me that the Dogs (and any other interested patrollers) are committed to the Cable Off-Road Classic that weekend. That is also MN fishing opener, so we (BTP) may be up at Simpson and Trout Lake anyhow, but I threw it out in case it would fit.

BTW, there will be four of us from the Backcountry Trail Patrol (two each) on the 30 and 62 mile Ironman Ride this weekend. Dress warm!

Alden;

I too live in Robbinsdale, perhaps I could call or e-mail my requested dates to you?

If there is sufficient interest then post them?

Just a thought -

Thanks,

Bill :D

The training at Battle Creek is set for Saturday, May 14th from 9am to 5pm. We will have one or two guest speakers. John Moriarty from Ramsey County Parks will be speaking about Battle Creek Park and its history and future. There may also be a Ramsey County Park Deputy coming to talk about what you can expect as a patroller in the park, as well as rules and regulations.

To get to the park take I94 to White Bear Ave. Turn south and take it to Upper Afton Rd. Turn left and go to Winthrop St. and turn right. Just past the ball fields turn right into the parking lot. Training will be in the shelter near the southeast corner of the lot.

Bring your bikes. Please RSVP.
