We have a Trail called NSP next to holzinger down in winona that is a doubletrack downhill type of trail that was a powerline trail at one point. The ice is finally gone I hit it up today for a couple hours of biking up Garvin Hts road and bombing down the rocky goodness. My legs are shot after a winter of not wheeling but it felt sooooo good to get out on some trail.

Excellent. That first ride on the dirt is always such a welcome experience. It'll be a while before things are in good shape around the cities. I'm looking forward to my annual early spring trip to your neck of the woods for a little fly-fishing and Holzinger ridin'!

Troy,

Where do you flyfish down in that area? I inherited a flyrod from my grandfather's estate and am hoping two of my friends who are avid flyfishers will take me out this summer. Heading in that direction would be fun because we could go for a ride as well.

I'm really in the learning stages as well. I've been out about a half dozen times and have caught about twice that number in fish total. Most of them I caught last spring while fishing the Whitewater near Elba. I've tried a couple others but didn't have any luck. It's plenty of fun though. And of course the scenery ain't bad either. I'll post up when I head down this spring.

Several summers ago, I tried flyfishing, but kept hooking the back of my head:shocked: My wife even bought me a fly tying kit. I suspect that she thinks Red Green is sexy, tying flies while talking about touchy-feely stuff.

Anyway, I gave it up after 1 season. I found that I could cast a fly farther by hooking an ultralight spinning reel onto the fly rod.
