Congratulations, Buck.
About a month ago, I went back and looked at the film again. Very well done! So well, in fact, that I thought it was professionally made and didn't give it my first-place vote at the MORC meeting. (Bob=stupid) Fortunately, the other members had more brains than me that day, and voted yours to be the clear winner.
I look forward to seeing your next film.

Nice job, Buck!
Where can i go to download/view the film?

www.fooriders.com (http://www.fooriders.com) then search conspicuous corruption or look in one of the galleries.
You have to become a member to view, but it only takes seconds and there are some other cool one in there. The reason you have to become a member is b/c someone had video of questionable trails on the website and the Cali DNR/BLM were using it to arrest/ticket people, so this way the site can stop that from happening!

Thanks Buck!
I found it and am downloading it right now - 120 MB = 30 minutes! Faster than a round trip to Hollywood Video.
I was not required to register. Below is the direct link to the download page for the video.

GREAT video, Buck! I liked it all. Man, I think I have got to try some more jumping this year against my better judgement and responsibilities. Great to see the X-ups (or Harry Leary's as we used to call them back in the early 80's BMX days), no handers, etc. I am looking forward to seeing more of your work! Hey, being a X-country rider I can do a mean fire tower climb. I am sure that would vid well. Right? Wrong! I really liked seeing the rippin' downhills, watching the squishy rigs and the riders eating up the terrain. Keep it coming!

I really liked that video Buck did. It had good music and really good riding in it. Bucks video makes me want to go out and get a helmet cam. I need a video camera though. I would rather film and contribute the footage to someone like Buck and/or James, since I am not one to like the editing part. One thing I really want to do is use the helmet cam in the skatepark......that would be dope ammo!!!

Glad it got you pumped up to push it a little!!! We'll be seein' you airin' stuff at Steeple Chase!!! WOOOHOOOO

Have to talk to James, I decided to up-grade to a production level DV cam instead of getting decked out in a helmet cam and all the stuff they include...

Great to see the X-ups (or Harry Leary's as we used to call them back in the early 80's BMX days),
Just to clarify. The Leary was like an X-Up, but with a kickout thrown in. So the back end would be kicked out and the bars would be crossed up, usually with your body out in front of the bike. If you just do the bars alone, it's called and X-Up....or crossup.

Shad,
For skate park stuff a trail cam is usually better for capturing stuff. i.e. you riding/skating me on Blades following you around.
A helmet cam in that environment would be kinda boring and a would guess jumpy. You definitly would not want long clips of it as a POV of a BMX park rider just can't be that interesting. It's not like you have anything interesting to watch, you are no Peter North. Maybe a rear peg mount pointing forward or a some other frame mount would be interesting.
Just so everyone knows, The Bulletcam itself is a piece of MORC property and anyone in the club can check it out for use. You have to provide the DV Cam or other recording device, and take responsibility if it is damaged, but anyone can use it. Just get ahold of me.
If you want to try it out, just let me know and we will work something out.

No Peter North!!! How do you know? Maybe John Holmes is more like it.....:)
I think I could do it right. You can mount the camera many different ways in a park to make it more interesting. Besides, I am talking about the concrete bowl here.....I think it would look pretty cool to see that being shredded on. Also, I was thinking about the whole chase cam idea too. We do death trains in the bowl (follow one after the other with many riders) and that would look pretty cool too. I would also like to do some street stuff to. Both first person, chase, and third person. Basically, I would get the footage and then donate it to you and/or Buck and you guys can take it or leave it. I just don't do the editing stuff and am not sure if I would even be that interested in that part.

What kind of inputs do you need on your camera? I don't know if I have the proper ones to make it work on my Sony. I have a docking station that comes with mine and I think it has a video in on it but not sure if I can record while it is hooked up to the docking station or not. If it would work I would be interested in using for an afternoon to get some remote shots.

The camera need to be able to accept an analog video input. All canon's and I think all Sony's have this option but I am not sure.
Which Model are you using?
James
eh, to have good helmet cam footage you need one of the new hi res chips in there...and while helmet cam is cool, to much of it is a bad thing.
Just my .02 from experience.
That being said, I may be interested in borrowing it for some races :D ...since I am soon to have TWO cameras, woohoo for new gear!!!!!!!!!!

Correct, the MORC camera system is a 380 line cam, while the Hi-Rez cams are 480 or 520. you do not get much of a difference in picture quaility, but light balance and compensation on the Hi-Rez cameras are much better and faster.
I am working on having Mike at Bulletcam build me a custom High-Rez system with S-video connections, Built in High Quality Mic, Rechargable Lith-ion battery, and Multiple angle lens options.
I'll let you guy's know how it turns out. I have also looked into getting a new Verticle Layout MiniDV cam and mounting it to the helmet instead of using the bullet. This has a number of benefits but cost is prohibitive.

Coming down fire tower, however, would be very cool footage / carnage!
Maybe 9 years ago, I did the CAMBA poker ride with a bunch of friends and they said the guide nearly had a stroke after he just got done telling us to be careful and I took of as hard as I could catching big air off every terrace. Rocks were flying everywhere and my bike was skipping all over the place.
Lots of action!!! Man that was fun.

Yeah, screaming down fire tower is a rush! A buddy of mine once scuba'd into one of the big puddles on one of the transitions. Man, that was funny! Smelly too.

What's funny is that if I was to dig around and find my box of magazines....I would have that issue. I have almost all the BMX Action issues from the 80's. I also have a bunch of Freestylin' too. Both magazines came out of Wizard Publications back when RL Ozborn and Mike Buff were king of freestyle. So was Bob Haro (founder of Haro Bikes) and riders like Eddie Fiola. Not long after this magazine a young racer named Mike King came onto the scene. That name is well known in downhill. Yeah, I show my age.
Soon I think I will have to spend some time with eBay and see how much money I can make off of my old magazines......:)
