Reminds me of almost 30 years ago, when I was a mechanic at a Hodaka motorcycle shop. Hodakas had notoriously piss-poor transmissions.

The shop had a big wooden box that we would throw the dead gears into. Over the years, the box filled up to the point where you couldn't even drag it across the floor. I'm guessing that it It must have weighed about 250 lbs.

So, one slow day, we were sitting around, and my boss (the shop owner) decided to get artsy. He broke out the welding torch, and starting welding the gears together, turning the trash into a 5 ft high sculpture. Then, he sent the sculpture back to Hodaka - C.O.D. As far as I can tell, they paid the shipping, because we never got it back.
