It's not easy to throw larger bikes around like that. On a 20 incher it's not too bad, but I have a rough time doing 180s on my P.2. I can whip 360s on my 20 incher no problem. I think I am getting the hang of it, but I think I need to axe the gears on my P.2. Just make it a single and go with it. I have too many issues not being able to do certain tricks because of the RD......especially tricks where I need to roll backwards.....which are some of my favs.

I love good biking videos and have become an addict. Here a couple of teasers that I like watching showing the progression of biking, and also video editing
Yes these are what I would call some kids who are the cross between Freeriders meet Jacka**
http://www.rivercity.ca/nakedape/download_trailer.html
This is probably one of the sweetest trailers I found in a long time and I know your all gonna say its only a BMX film but it shows where home editing is going, and also its an international competition held by a company here in Minnesota
http://www.midwestbmx.net/aspireweb.wmv
Wow before I get out of control I better stop if anyone wants more I can always post more links later, by the way you have to download these so they could take a few minutes, but at least they are safe videos with no crap.

Watching these videos makes me realize how much of my life is about riding. I am 37 and I watch these videos and just can't wait to ride. In the end, it ends up being all I really care about. I do all of these other things.....like work, just so I can live to ride. I am coming out of a phase where I don't ride as much as I used to. Now, I plan to make it the #1 thing in my life again. Many people want to grow up, have a family, that nice home, and kids. Me, I want to grow up and ride more.
Don't ask me why, but the phrase..."Born to ride!" just smacks me in the face hard!!! I am addicted to riding like some people are addicted to drugs or alcohol.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I had so much fun riding last weekend I can't seem to pay attention in school. I think I'd take living in a shack in the woods and riding all the time over having a nice house and mowing the lawn. :D I've had friends use that excuse plenty of times, WEEK!

Yeah, now I am all stoked to turn my P.2 into a single and set it up like those dudes. Maybe even a gyro and potts mod (front brake cable through the stem and fork). I love the part where the guy does a bunny hop into a manual over a large barrier and then manuals into a 50/50 stall on another ledge. That was some busted dope if you ask me........
I like a lot of the manual tricks. I started to get manuals a wheelies down pretty good on my P.2 last summer. I can't wait to dial those in more this summer.
I still need a new fork. I am waiting to get my Stance Static fork. Now I need the fork, new brake levers and a single speed gear for my rear cassette. The frame has slotted drops, so I am good there. I do need to switch out the rear axle to a solid so I can bolt it on.

I know what you mean. My wife and I just had our first child last September, and it's a huge change. However I do still ride, I just have to manage my time better to make it happen. As for the fat part, I was fat long before I had a kid.

I'd ditch the stance, I've seen/heard that alot of them are breaking at arch...shell out the cash and get the sherman jumper fork...as far as I know it isn't OEM only this year.
Coolest part of the vid is the foot plant...if you ever tried one you'd know that they are pretty damn hard, I'm close to gettin' it myself, and I don't have a hardtail if I did I'm pretty sure I'd already gotten it by now...

The trick on those footplants, especially the ones under your bike, called a fastplant, is to get the bike to do the air as if you were not going to do the foot plant. You don't have much weight on your foot or leg, it's all in the path of the bike as if you are doing a normal 180 arial. The foot plant is just a cool factor to throw in and allow you to throw a little extra extention in there. If you find youself putting a lot of effort into the planted leg, you are probably not doing it correctly.
Just a suggestion that might help, especially with the heavier bike.

It's likely I would not have an issue with it. I am not that hard on parts. Until I get a "Big Bike", I will not be doing any huge drops or super crazy stuff on it. Mostly just street type stuff like in that first video. I also think I land fairly smooth because I am used to not having any suspension. I use my arms and legs a lot to compress the landings, I don't purely rely on the fork.

Hey man...sign your own death wish, most riders are smooth...I've seen pics of guys on NSMB that are smooth as butter ridin' on stance forks, alls it takes is one SNAFU to end it no matter how smooth you are, but hey it your face not mine!
Thanks for the tips on the fast/foot plant stuff!

In the end it's what people really value. I know many people who have families and they love it. They are crazy about their kids and love the whole life around them.
Then there are the many others I see. They complain and bitch about how much their life sucks and how much freetime they don't have. Many of them gain weight and seem frustrated most of the time (I can think of my brother in law). Usually they end up not being good parents because it's not the life they really wanted.
I know I wouldn't be happy if I had all the commitments that went with having a family. I know I put riding as my #1 priority and because of that, I just could not settle down and have a family.
I am not ripping on people who love their families and their lifestyles, I am just sayin' it's not for me. I have been critisized for not "Growing Up". Society tells us we are all supposed to grow up, get married, buy a home, and have a family.
I am going to live a long time. The day I can not ride (like what we see in these videos) anymore, I will consider settling down. Heck, I am only 37.....I have a long ways to go yet!!

And more power to you. The world's over populated with unwanted children the way it is. Enjoy your freedoms; travel, eat in nice quiet restaurants, and sleep well doing it. Life's to short to try and live up to others expectations, just do what you like and be happy doing it. The people that rip on you for not "growing up" are most likely just jealous of your lifestyle. You know what they say "misery loves company, as long as company is miserable too".
