This is not another single speed comment, but do you need gears for trials riding? I don't know.

SS = no derailleur to get ripped off the frame when you mash up against your obstacles...

I have two ss. A D.I.S.S. and a beater, i love them more that my geared bikes. (Rocky Vertex, full XT, Fox 125RLC, Avid Mech disk, and Hope hubs on Mavic rims) The next bike I want to build is a fixed track bike. Surly Steamroller...
I the photo of the trails bike, there is a derailer on it. I wanted to know why?!.

There is a shift cable, and what looks like gripshift.

Didnt notice that. I knew a guy that had 3 gears on his trials bike for different things, maybe its something like that. I have a 4sp setup on my commuter and my rear derailleuer looks stretched.

:crazy2: Replies!
Buck: For sure. I'm going to a comp in TX April 2nd, I'll bring back some picts. I'll keep ya posted on a ride soon too.
Manual63, we'll go riding very soon. I took it out today for my first real ride, and things went pretty well. Get that mod ready.
Haha yea, no seat there. They just get in the way anyways. Not to mention the extra weight.
Yup, there is a derailleur and gripshift on there. There are 6 "working gears" to meet competion requirements, however ya really only need one. It would be nice not to have the der, but oh well. Smash it, replace it. Its expected.
