i just moved from duluth to downtown minneapolis, and i'm looking for a bike i can convert into a single-speed urban cruising machine.
i'd like to spend as little as possible, but i'll pay a fair price.
the bike doesn't have to be pretty or cool, just functional and reasonably durable (i'm about 6'2", 220 lbs, and i ride real clumsy-like).

Chris head on down to Washington Ave and stop in at One-on-One. They should be able to hook you up with a used singlespeed for the right price.

Thanks James!
Yeah, we have the less expensive SS you desire. You can even test ride it all day if you want.

How about 2 of them? :) I am interested in a lower priced SS also.
Thanks James!

I have a Trek 830. Not much of a bike, but am trying to get rid of it to make some room. Not worried much about the money part. Am willing to take trade in booze. :) Just joking, but will unload cheap. Actually the tires on it are probably worth more than the bike. If anyone is really looking for an inexpensive cruiser, it'll work.

Hey Matt, what size is that Trek 830?

I don't even know off the top of my head. I'm about 5'-9" and it fit me fine. It's been hanging on the wall for a year or so. I can let you know exactly next Monday.

Also if you could tell me if it is a 1" steer tube or 1 1/8". Thanks.

hey, gene.
i've been poking around in your basement every few days or so. there's a red bridgestone mtb frame that i've got my eye on.
the satanic mechanic was listening to some sweet opera on my most recent visit.
i'm the guy who came in with a jacked-up rear 26'' wheel that needs to be rebuilt. it had a twisted-up spoke, a few more that were about to snap, and cupped sidewalls. jacked up.
i'll be back soon.

It's an 18" Trek 830. 1" steer tube (not positive). I replaced the tires with the ones originally off my stumpjumper, Specialized Rockster Pro 1.9. I'll e-mail a picture if anyone is interested.
