nonprofit status

I read in a previous post that MORC was applying for non-profit status. I am curious how this process is going.

Hopefully this will complete before the end of 2005.

Its done, we are fully non-profit. I'm not one to talk details, but its a done deal as of last year....

Thanks for the response, and please excuse my ignorance. Does this status make donations to MORC tax deductible? If so, I can up my donation by without increasing the "cost" to me.

Yes, donations to MORC are tax deductible. Just make sure that we have provided you with a receipt of your donation.

Contact your tax preparer for further details but yes....I'd assume most people here are in the 15% bracket so you'll be able to give another $0.15 per $1.00 of your original donation
