This Saturday is the first day of the winter training session.
The schedule is as follows:
New Patroller Training Session 1 - Saturday, January 15th 10am-7pm
New Patroller Training Session 2 - Saturday, January 22nd 12 noon-7pm
Adult CPR Training - Saturday, January 29th 10am-7pm
All classes will be at REI in Bloominton just off 494 and Lyndale Ave S.
What to bring:
Notepad and pen
Manuals will be provided
Snacks will be provided – If you have preferences let me know.
Anything else you think you might need
What not to bring:
You do not need to bring your bike for these sessions. All the training will be indoors.
Classroom Fees:
The cost for the patroller training session is $20. Both sessions are needed to complete patroller training.
The cost for Adult CPR is also $20. CPR training does not have to be done here but is part of the requirement for becoming a patroller. Books are extra and optional. It’s recommended that you have one of the two. The quick guide type book is $1 and the full CPR manual is $10.
Membership Fees:
MORC Patrol membership is included with your MORC membership. If you are already a MORC member there are no additional dues. If you are not a MORC member the current membership fee for a single membership is $20 possibly increasing to $25 soon.
National Mountain Bike Patrol dues are currently set at $35 and include socks and an IMBA membership.
Uniforms:
The current cost of an NMBP short sleeve jersey is $35 and it’s the only requirement of the uniform. Jerseys and other NMBP merchandise can be purchased by or for patrollers only at http://stores.yahoo.com/imba/nmmer.html.
I am looking into getting some of these costs reduced. The classroom fees will remain as stated, but I’m trying to set up a scholarship type program for the rest. Let me know if you have any questions. I’ll try to send out a more detailed agenda before the end of the week.
