The dates and times for the winter training are set. It will be held at REI in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on">Bloomington</ST1:p</st1:City> and the schedule is as follows:
New Patroller Training Session 1 - Saturday, January 15th 10am-7pm
New Patroller Training Session 2 - Saturday, January 22nd 12 noon-7pm
Adult CPR Training - Saturday, January 29th 10am-7pm
You'll notice there is a CPR class. This class will be $20 and meets the minimum requirement for CPR to be a patroller. FIRST AID TRAINING IS NOT INCLUDED. The CPR class is completely optional because many First Aid training classes include CPR. No sense taking it twice. Books for this class would also be additional and optional. There is a CPR quick guide that can be purchased for $1 and a full CPR training manual available for $10.
This CPR class is also open to REI members and employees, MORC members, and if there is more room available the general public.
The Patroller training class will be limited to 20 new patrollers. Maximum class size for CPR is 12.
The patroller training will be open to new and existing MORC members as well as those seeking to become members of other NMBP patrols. The class size is limited to 20. The cost for patroller training is $20. Patroller candidates must attend both new patroller training sessions to become a certified patroller. NMBP dues are extra and begin at $35. MORC membership fees are currently set at $20, possibly increasing to $25? MMBP membership dues are included in the MORC dues.
