As Scott said in his post to christen this humble lil' corner of the MORC site, we have a lot going on this year. In particular, we're going to move beyond word-of-mouth and make a concerted effort to market ourselves to riders in and around the metro area.

Over the next year, we will be producing a lot of MORC materials: posters, brochures, t-shirts and who knows what else. I've been lucky enough to have a designer friend do some fine work for us thus far. But I'd like to know if there are other designers, art directors and other creative types out there who'd be willing to lend a hand from time to time.

If this describes you, please send me an email at: c.youel@martinwilliams.com

This won't make you rich, but it's a chance to do good work for the sport you love. Any help you can offeris much appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks, Adam. Glad to hear from you on this one. We need to figure out a way to put those talents to use. Not sure if documenting trail work in action is where it's at, but I can definitely see something about riding the results.

Expect to hear from me when we get our collective act together about what we're doing next year. And if you have any ideas about putting something together that could help us, either with how we market ourselves to riders or how we approach land managers, I'm all eyes and ears.

Thanks,

cky

I hope donating my time will help towards what I want too *cough*FREERIDE*cough*!!!

hey, you know the f-word is not a dirty word in our vocabulary. and video is the medium that's made freeriding as big as it is. might make a lot of sense. and be a lot of fun.

Heck yeah,
I'm just joshin' ya all! Are there any good computer graphics and photographers in the club??? step it up and sound off! They'd be great for posters, as for gettin MORC out there, start SPAMin' other boards with MORC info. MTBR, NSMB, HCOR, Pinkbike, all of 'em...start looking for more midwesterners, heck I talked to a guy up here while I was at the snocross(thanks REDBULL for the great weekend I had) and I talked to a guy that saw I rode alot and the RB guys told him what I did we struck up a conversation and he said he road Leb alot(3 + a week), donated money but was not a member to MORC and even signed up for trail work but NO ONE called or e-mailed him with details...so he never helped, never met MORC crews...

Cool. I like it! Just sent an email to Charles, too. =)

Yeah, I think the "branding" of MORC is an excellent idea, and I'm chomping at the bit to do my part! I'm thinking of a poster with a Tinkerbell figure waving a wand over a trail and the words "Because there are no magic little trail fairies ..."

I like to dabble with photography (hopefully I can put together the money to get a new camera this winter to get a few more megapixels) and have always had fun creating posters and flyers and such.

By the way is there anyway of getting high res. versions of the trail fairy ad? I'd like to print one out for my work and maybe we could have a version on cafe press for t-shirts?

Copies of the Trail Fairy poster are available for the asking. I ran extras just in case, so I should be able to accomodate whoever who wants one.

Scott, shoot me an email at my address that's listed in the first post on this thread and let me know where you live and/or work, so I can get you one (I live in South Minneapolis and work Downtown).

For those of you who haven't seen the Trail Fairy poster, it'll be up in bike shops as soon as I can get our tear pads printed to go with it.

John Lundell (if you happen to be reading this), if I email you a graphic of the poster, can we post it online?

Please!? I'd like to see this. As things from the move settle down here, I'm going to try to put some effort into expanding the MTB opportunities down here. The terrain is amazing! perfect for some really, really good trails to be built. There just needs to be a voice. And hopefully, I can be it. Or part of it. There's a small group of riders that may be willing to help, though I haven't met many of them yet. It's too bad that WORBA has gone downhill in the past few years. I seem to remember that back when MORC was starting, WORBA was 'big'. Wonder if that's anything to do with the WORBA leadership? Or lack there-of. I dunno. Seems to be all about WORS and racing here. And WORS is starting to get a bad name for boring races on top of it...sorry to hijack here. MORC/MOCA is rockin' and its reallly cool to see. MN's grade from IMBA should be going up soon methinks!

Chris,

I'd like to get involved in the creative process. I don't have any specific ideas right now, but I'm available when you need somebody to bounce some ideas off of. That would probably get my creative juices flowing, which could be dangerous.:crazy2:

Hey,

If anyone is going to be working out at Steeple Chase Ski Area over the dates of the 24th of December to the 14th of January, I would like to come shoot some footy for an idea that is brewing in my head...
Thanks

Hey folks. Thanks for the enthusiastic response. Great to see how many talented people we have out there wanting to get involved.

Scott a.k.a. Berrywise is taking lead on the MORC Film Festival for 2005. We're exploring options for posting more video files on the MORC site, so I see a lot of potential in this.

We have a lot of other initiatives for the coming year, and I'll be contacting y'all when the time is right to move on stuff. Thanks again.

Well, Dan, it just so happens that we will probably need a little programming done when we re-launch the MORC site, hopefully by this Spring. Let me know if you're game for this. Once we've got a design nailed down, maybe you, John Lundell and I can get together and get a reckoning on what needs doing.

Thanks. And if anyone else wants to step up, I'm all ears/eyes.
