Looking for group rides?
Or a team to race with thats a little less serious?
Check us out.
www.c6rs.com (http://www.c6rs.com/)
Category 6 Racing Squad.
We're dedicated to having fun racing and riding road bikes. We'll be doing group rides that you can hang on to, but will still be challenging. Most of us race in the Cat 4/5 races and have fun doing it.
Keep an eye on the website for updates on training rides. There might be some indoor this winter.
We would love for anyone to join us.
Thanks

1) Are there any openings for clydes on the team?
2) Do I really have to shave my legs? I prefer to shave above the knee only. Hairy calves and ankles are hot IMO.

I'm with Sean. You guys are all way too skinny. I could hide the lot of you behind my thighs. Not that you'd want me to, but in principle. Still, I'm intrigued by the notion that someone's invented a category for my level of (in)competence...

We definitely have room for clydes on the team. As diretuer sportif I have found that hairy legs make for great strategy. Any rider in a pack at a road race with hairy legs or MTB shoes and pedals gets to make their own hole in the peloton. To geeky road riders you might as well be riding a huffy. They will stay out of your way, and let you sit perfectly in the middle. Just make sure you don't prove them right and crash everyone.

...I'd definitely be sporting the MTB shoes - maybe even baggy shorts if it's not too warm. I can use the pack to offset the aero drag of my furry legs and flapping shorts.
Now just how would I crash everyone? That's sounds like fun. I've heard that there are a lot of hot head pricks that road race...might just be time to get in some semblance of shape (other than round) and open a tall can of whupazz (at least for the first few miles...).

I'm inspired by your underachieving mission statement. I think I could fit right in! When are you riding again?

Just get squirrley in the middle of the peloton, esp. while negotiating a high speed turn. Just watch a few Citizen/Cat 4 races, it's always entertaining in a road rash kind of way.

LOL. I never crashed in cat 4... wasn't until a certain team sent their squirrely riders after me when I upgraded to cat 3. :D

I hope you don't think it was our team that was squirrely. We may be slow, but we pride ourselves on our excellent handling skills.

Not accusing your team at all. Definitely was another team that used to have a pseudo-Italian name.... but hey, they gotta remain nameless.
