It looks like another group of like-minded indiviuals has found another way to burn time while at the office! Well, it's better than some of the options out there!

Really, it is good to see the growing interest in Theo! It shows that Moca and Morc's efforts are paying off.

I love coming home from work (no surfing at work), checking the new posts for the day, and seeing all the talk about Theo.

Lately, it has been the most talked about trail!

I agree 100% with what you guys are hinting at:

Theo Wirth: rulez

Lebanon Hills: a steaming pile of poo

You might want to break the ongoing discussions from the trail conditions to make it easier for people to see recent riding info... we've had probs with that in the Leb forum, its easy to let things get off topic.

Thats not all bad though.

I love seeing another trail take on some spark and activity! I hope by this time next year we have 3-4 trails going on like this... then... soon... too many to count. :D

Did that a few days ago, shouldn't have let it get so out of hand...

This message is to help increase Theo's count, in a feeble effort to surpass Leb.:p

It's the least I can do -- and I always do the least I can do.

Sounds like a friendly rivalry forming... maybe we'll see a Theo team and a Leb team form up for the 12 hours of honor series 2005??? ;)

I guess, strictly speaking, that would make Lebanon "number 2"

We could use some additional fill for those in-slope turns at Theo! Wait! Buried riders are organic matter and will not stand the test of time.

Maybe we should change the name of the park to Beirut, we certainly have enough battles to contend with in an urban setting. User conflicts, the bureaucracy, perpetually disgruntled biker-anarchists, rouge trail builders that dig holes to make berms and jumps - then criticize sustainability, I could probably go on - but won't.

Over 50% of MORC members are Minneapolis residents, hard to believe. The path to the River Bottoms and Leb must be pretty beat down from here by now.

We will rule the forums in 2005! :fool:

OK I will go on....

The leader of Beruit should return from his (somewhat) self-imposed exile to lead the "battle".

Let's see. Theo over Leb.

Advantages:

I can ride to Theo without getting in my car
The trail is getting pretty long and is a lot of fun
I can view lots of eye candy at the lakes on my way
It's close enough to uptown to get some good eats
Disadvantages:

It's easy to get lost in the trails
There still isn't much challenge for higher skilled riders
I can view lots of eye candy at the lakes on my way
I might risk hitting another rider head-on because I don't know which direction the trail is supposed to go
Leb still rules, but it's nice to have another good quality choice. Theo certainly out does the River Valley in my book.

Shad's got a good point. Lebanon is still, very much, worth the drive. It has a lot more to offer than Theo both in miles and obstacles. I'm very curious to see how this next summer treats Theo, though, and what the MPRB will allow us to get away with in terms of more trail.

I still think we shouldn't have nearly as many obstacles at Theo as we do at Leb. The trail itself as a challenge is a welcome change :).

Yup, whats more important than comparing our trails with each other is comparing our area vs. other areas. We don't really want any two of our trails being just like the other really... at least not yet anyway.

Yeah, we don't want Theo to be a steaming pile of poo like Leb. One is enough. ;)

I love Leb, but I've been really enjoying Theo of late. Maybe it's because it's more new to me! Can't wait to see what is coming next summer at Theo. What's wierd is that I live in Mpls, but I am still about a mile closer to Leb than I am to Theo! I guess it can't hurt to live close to both! They are both great!

Hey Bill! We need you back! You've got too much time and energy invested to just sit on the sidelines.... We've missed your enthusiam and hard work the last couple of months - oh, and your wife's cookies, too - Erik and I have bought bagels and dounts but it's just not the same.. :-P . Seriously though, we need to keep our core group of MOCA members together and you're a big part of that.
