What goes on at the MOCA Board Meetings?
Is the city always present?
Rarely, but last night Jennifer Ringlold (MPRB's MOCA contact) was in attendance. It was good to have her there - as we were able to resolve some important issues on-the-spot, and we received some great feedback on beauracratic and logistical issues.
As far as what goes on at the meetings - mostly organizational things, where we are at with our relationship with MORC and the Park Board, planning for things like signs, funding, grants, - delegating tasks. Committee Heads report their status to the Board and take direction from the President.
It's not very exciting stuff, but it's where the decisions are made and direction is determined.
I personally like having the City representative present, but there are times when we may want to discuss certain issues privately - such as coming to a consensus on overall position, or giving opportunity to air grievences and concerns with the Group/City relationship. Last night we were able to take care of a couple of minor issues before the meeting in the Trail Commitee Meeting.
