Reminds me of Shredders Layer in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles a bit (you know the cool place where all the bad kids hung out) but more fun. I believe the old brewery (Hamms?) by Swede Hollow Park just north of downtown St. Paul in the Payne-Phalen area is abandoned. Anyone got a million bucks to develope it?

Looks like a group caravan down there this winter might be in order. Looks like a blast, wish we had that here. Maybe someday.

Stroh's or Hamm's brewery would hook up sweet for just this sort of indoor bike park. I believe there are tunnels connecting the buildings that could be pretty cool too. I'm picturing a bike shop, coffee shop and full bar setup nearby also (if not all connected). Frills and chills at Hamm's Brewery Mtb. Park.

Plus, Swede Hollow Park has some good elevation. Could be indoor/outdoor depending on the season. Looks like the Power Ball is up to $52 million, that should be enough.

Alright, I have a proposition to make. A bunch of use senseless bike dorks all buy one Powerball ticket and if one of us wins we vow to build it. Any takers?

a 30 year mortgage payment on a mil is only $5995.51/Month... Peice of cake, We can all chip in! :D
yeah, and then we need somebody to buy a lumber yard too....holy crap that's a lot of wood. (at least it won't rot being inside!!)

If you look closely that is all rough cut pine. Those guys do know someone who owns a sawmill. We used to get rough cut that didn't past inspection for free back up in the U.P. We didn't use it to build stunts though, we burned it to stay warm!

That looks like fun. It's not too far of a drive....:)
Maybe we will have to plan a couple of winter trips to that place.

Yeah, three in a row and then a huge 180 deg wall ride into 3 more....sounds like a fun smooth line. I'm down with a road trip.

Did any of you see a price posted?
$15 for a day I think. I wonder how many miles has. It looks fun, but I wonder how quick you would get bored riding the same lines over and over.....

You can also find free wood at construction sites. Especially the large town home ones that cover a large area, hard to be spotted. All you have to do is go at night when it is dark and grab all the stuff you want out of the dumpster. They throw away a lot of good stuff. Sometimes good things can "accidently" end up in a dumpster as well :D.

Instead of trespassing at night, just go talk to G.C. (general contractor) during the day and ask if you can take the scrap wood. That way your legal and not being a thief in the night.
I'll second Troy's suggestion about asking first. I've done this a number of times and it's usually met with- "Take as much as you want. It's just that much less we have to pay to get rid of."

Just got done talkin to one of my buddies that went there this weekend and got to ride it, said it was sweeeeeet. Did't think it would be that cool but said it rocked and plans on going again some time once the snow falls.

Odd as it sounds, I am heading to State College, PA next summer for the Single Speed Words and will now to make a stop both in Cleveland and Chicago to try out these places. Think I will look out of place and a Full Sus Single Speed :crazy2:

I just got this email this morning:

Please, DO NOT BRING BIKES to the Open House.

Thanksgiving & continues Sat. Nov. 27 & Sun. Nov. 28.Only 24" or larger-wheeled mountain bikes will be allowed in the park, except for modified trials bikes.

navigate the entire course. See Trials demonstrations. Look it over and see if it’s for you.
Where is Ray’s Indoor Mountain Bike Park?
Due to overwhelming response, we’re not giving out the exact location just yet. Look for the exact location on this website the week before the Open House (week of Nov. 7). But, to give you an idea, it’s just 5.25 miles west of downtown Cleveland, OH; 6.25 miles from Hopkins Int’l Airport and no more than 2.25 miles from either I-90, I-71 or I-480.
Early Sign-Up Open House Discount!
$10 off membership. Hope to see you there.
