When does trail close??

I am meeting with city and the park commisioner next wednesday. I wil find out then what we plan on doing for the park in the winter.

Until the snow flies the trail is open for riding, conditions permitting i.e. not wet, muddy etc.

We are going to open the trail to SNow shoes this winter, probably not cross county , a little to narrow. I will see if we can have it as a snow biking area. It would be a blast.

I'll keep everyone posted.

Did we ever find out what Salem/Harmon is going to with the trails this winter? Is it open right now?

The Plan is for it to stay open for riding all winter, Freeze thaw conditions over that time will close the trail, but if the gorund is frozen, or there is snow, the trail is open for riding.


It is hard as a rock and quite nice right now, later this week it looks like we are going to go back into the freeze thaw cycle, so stay off.

Once the season gets going I will start organizing winter rides here.

Well, then, let's hope for good riding conditions on Saturday. We have to be off the trails by 3PM or so in order to get good seats for the show.

Actually no, I am leaving Friday Night for the parents place in Omaha for a week long christmas holiday.


Weather permitting I am going to Kansas City on Tuesday and Wednesday for some riding.
