The weather was against us this week. With all of the rain we've had, the soil is too saturated for us to build trail.
So, the Blitz Build is cancelled. We may try to reschedule next weekend, but stay tuned to http://mocatrails.org for updates.

Oh no! Now what am I going to do this weekend!? No trailwork, no riding (maybe Sunday). I guess I'll sit at my computer and watch the forum.

Did TrailSource have a chance to visit?

Bummer, I had clearance from my better half to play in the dirt and ride my bike...

No I don't think so, I wasn't out there, but I know they cancelled yesterday and most likely today. Try again next week I guess.

Tim was out there today. They did the walk through with the MPRB to see what was going to be done with the machines. It is very, very muddy.
Hopefully we will be able to do something next weekend. Now what to do this weekend???

Erik said he was going to Wisconsin to get hammered so----everyone call his cell phone early in the morning on Saturday to punish him for killing brain cells.
Actually Dale and I are planning on working with the machines on Wed beginning around noon and all day on Thursday. So you wil have something to build for the next blitz.

Drag! Now I will be forced to do my yardwork.
What did the MPRB think about what they saw at Theo? I'd be interested to know how they are perceiving the project.
Who/what is TrailSource?
I will be over to Theo Sunday to check out conditions and ride if not too wet. Does anyone know if Lebanon would be rideable by Sunday morning assuming we do not get much rain tomorrow?

Oh, nice! I have earned the 'Beginner Trail' moniker. I saw GopherHockey was messing with this last night.
One of these days I will feel secure enough about my abilities and I will remove my training wheels. They can really mess up a ride when they hook onto those little trees, you know.
So, how many meaningless posts before I hit the next level?

You are there now - welcome to Granny Gear! ;)
Don't worry, you will move up quickly...
I've been known to delete useless posts by people trying to fix their rating hehe...
Seriously though I hope nobody will be insulted by these things - its all just in fun, and most (if not all) know its a forum thing not a bike skills thing. The MORC logo under a persons name is what I look for... :D

Responses ranged from silent to enthusiastic. But overall, I'd say they are more impressed than ever about our efforts and organization.
The head of the Park's Maintenance Department is a biker - and just couldn't say enough good things. The Forestry manager carefully scrutinized the corners we have proposed, but didn't have any major issues with our current plans - which include 3 of the 6 sections we are currently working on.
I'd say we are doing as well as we possibly can, the city is cautiously supportive and easy to work with.
Who/what is TrailSource?
TrailSource are Tim Wegner and Dale Gundberg - they have purchased two trail excavators and supply services to trail groups at cost. Very dedicated individuals that everyone owes a great deal of thanks to for doing so. Tim is the Midwest IMBA rep and MORC Board member, Dale is a MORC Board member as well.
We have them scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday of next week to come back and do some heavy lifting for us.

If any of you Blitz Builders are looking for something to do, you could always head down to the river bottoms and help out Steve Eberly with the new reroute.
It sounds like they're doing some pretty sweet stuff down there.

Mr. GopherHockey,
I appreciate the sarcasm and fun interjected into this forum, no worries. What could be better than burning time reading, writing and laughing about riding when one can't get out on a ride, be it mud, work, wetc.? I look for the MORC logo too.
Wheels,
Thanks for the info.
Thanks too to those TrailSource guys! What a cool idea. Hey, I would love to drive around my yard on one of those machines someday (I know I will be using the handtools whenever I actually make it out for trail building).
Any news on a rescheduled blitz?

Looks like we will be building this weekend. The machines should be out there tomorrow and Thursday. We should be making an announcement tomorrow.
